hey there,
finally fired up the new beta 0.8.9.b190.
Savihost had problems with the GUI, it was totally scrambled. (not sure why)
Tested in REAPER 7.15 x64 on windows 10 21H1.
I opened fine there, GUI works, loading take a bit of time (its not instant!), CPU usage is also okay.
So far i like the features.
Is there anything specific, which should be tested?
i can test other DAWs aswell.

Windows version is the least debugged and still has some drawing issues especially when window is resized.
>I opened fine there, GUI works, loading take a bit of time (its not instant!),
the code compiles opengl shaders on Window open. normally it takes less than 100 ms, however it might be slower on some systems. if opening plug-in window takes more than 1-2s please let me know
>Is there anything specific, which should be tested?
I have two questions at the moment:
1) ER NUM (number of Early Reflections). currently the max value is 200. do you find values > 50 useful?
2) LR NUM. currently max value is 64, however for most of reverb applications 24 is more than enough. do you find values > 24 really useful. this param greatly affects cpu usage
>CPU usage is also okay.
cpu usage is high because the dsp code is not vectorized/optimized yet

I sent you an email Denis but re: your questions here:
I don't hear any differences when >50 - maybe others will.1) ER NUM (number of Early Reflections). currently the max value is 200. do you find values > 50 useful?
I don't hear differences here either. Also - >40 doesn't even play. It chokes the CPU and sounds terrible.2) LR NUM. currently max value is 64, however for most of reverb applications 24 is more than enough. do you find values > 24 really useful. this param greatly affects cpu usage

I can hear a clear difference when I change the ER values, I would suggest to leave it as it is.jbraner wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 1:59 pm I sent you an email Denis but re: your questions here:

LR not so much, it is almost indistinguishable between 20 and 64, so max 24 is more than ok.

Cheers! I am a Aether owner. How would I go about getting my license for this new replacement?

I bought the Perfect Storm 2.5 bundle for $400. Then I went Apple Silicon, and if I now want to use the verbs, I need to upgrade to 3.5, which is costing me $300. This just feels like wasting $400.

Them's the breaks with plugins. It's a new frontier and anything can happen. Unfortunately situations like this are one of the risks.eagle007 wrote: Wed Jul 31, 2024 8:21 pm I bought the Perfect Storm 2.5 bundle for $400. Nope, there's no paid for plugin-upgrades and neither is there support for Apple Silicon. The bundle upgrade only adds new plugins/presets.
