I own Lustrous Plates Surround but still use the stereo version; is there a compelling reason to use Surround if you only mix in stereo?

You probably can. You may want to try Illusion too, since it's kind of a hybrid IR/algo type thing using Fusion IR synthesis. It doesn't get as much love as some of the other LS products but I like it.

There's article on this:

Is really the big difference between CRP and Seventh Heaven? I am thinking to but Seventh maybe. But once again I just purchased CRP and maybe I need to learn it more before the next purchase...

The next Liquidsonics sale will be next Black Friday, they only do one a year. So if you think you might want something and don't want to wait a year (or pay more), think about doing it now, otherwise, you'll have a year to learn your current tools and evaluate whether you might want something else...

Yeah. It's the reason why I am asking regarding Seventh Heaven... I have 30% off for this one as the owner of CRP...

Something like: two must have reverbs from LiquidSonics?

Cinematic Rooms Pro and Lustrous Plates would be my top two.

The thing is, it really depends on the stuff you do and the tools you like and want... CRP is algorithmic and designed for realism, so if you prefer realism, you probably won't like things like Tai Chi or HD Cart so much.

CRP being algorithmic is insanely tweakable, whereas things like Seventh Heaven are Fusion IR based - they are more tweakable than typical IR's, but still more limited. However, if gives you a bunch of great preset starting points from a well-revered hardware unit, and plenty enough tweakability for me. It just sounds different to CRP, although the Bricasti it samples is also in the realism class of reverbs.

Alternatively, you can pick up Wave Alchemy's free Bricasti sampled reverb - it doesn't sound quite as good to me, and it has next to no tweakability, not even reverb times per preset, but it will give you the Bricasti thing for zero money.

For me, my fave reverbs from them would be Seventh Heaven Pro and Tai Chi, then CRP/Lustrous Plates/HD Cart next...

Thanks, I missed this somehow. I had noticed the Surround version processed changes faster but didn't realize it was actually lighter on CPU! When comparing I noticed Surround was about 4dB louder than stereo on the preset I compared, but after adjusting they sound quite simliar.

One is IR based (7H) and the other is not (CRP).
One is an emulation of hardware (7HP), the other is not.

They sound radically different to me.

If you have enough hard drive space, I'd honestly go for Reverberate. Good to have one convolution imo. Also the cheapest option. I had all the LiquidSonics and Reverb Foundry verbs at one point and CR-Pro, Reverberate and HD Cart were my most used.

Valhalla Room is actually really good for chorussed/detuned reverbs.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

It is going to be very difficult to not buy both of these. Way better than Reverberate sadly for me.
Start with the lite versions of both. Big chance that you won't be needing the expert functions of the full or pro version
that would be the responsible choice but the pro version of both is a lot better to my ears.

so far in my travels, Cinematic Rooms Pro does seem to be the best sounding reverb I've ever tried for "that" kind of reverb.

Tai Chi is almost irresistible though, but I could probably pass on it. I don't think it's THAT much better than what you can do with a combination of a few other effects on your own. Though it is definitely better.

I'm pretty dead set on getting Cinematic Rooms Pro, and can probably rest on buying reverbs for a while. I ran it into Adaptiverb on an FX send and it basically just made the track.

The same goes for Tai Chi - and to a lesser degree HD Cart - too though.
