I don't remember saying that AI is "human" but if I said it, it should be taken in a certain context.
AI is more human that other IT innovation fields like blockchain, containers, micro services, for sure, in the sense that it replicate a human process which is .... learning.

But it is far far from being human and the way it learns is quite far from the human way (far but not totally unrelated neither).

I think there is a shift in the discussion, there is no "hype" in AI being human. There is a "hype" in AI being a risk for many many human jobs. Unfortunately, it is a well deserved hype...

Fine to you, maybe, but stupid and pointless to me.

Then I must assume you are more easily fooled than I.
bookofthoth wrote: Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:19 pmI agree, but you got to admit, if a media company pays a graphic artist a wage, then finds out it just has to type something to get a result they can use, they won't be interested in keeping the graphic artist.
Your understanding of human nature is quite limited, it seems. If they can't boss the AI around, can't be the pedantic little pricks they like to be, it will suck the fun out of their lives. Trust me, they'll always want to have minions to lord it over.
Vocal AI ? What are you using for that?
Eleven Labs. We've got a subscription but there is a free tier.
I'm quite new here but you I can feel some arrogance in your answers. Doesn't really encourage people to debate.

Totally. I didn't say you said that. "AI is more human that we think it is" is my own, personal opinion here. For me it is a tech reflection of some of our ways of thinking, creating... The learning is human data. Recently, there even have been some experiments to give experiences and memories to AI. Another simulation of human mechanisms. Anyway, fascinating times we are witnessing in my opinion.

Note: I've cut down the quote as it triggered the spam filter FYI

Just tellin' it how I see it. If you are not doing this to create music, what is the point? You don't buy a load of timber and not build something with it, do you? You don't buy all the ski gear and not go skiing. Etc., etc. You end up being like those crazies who build a huge boat in their front yard, then leave it to rust away.

AI isn't even close to human, Ask Chat GPT to write you a limerick and see how it goes. It's really terrible at it.

Final answer:

Use this new DAW and click the “make AI song” button.

I’m sure they’ll update it eventually to remove the complex step of clicking the button lol, thus freeing your musical creativity once and for all!

But this is generating only audio stems. You will never be able to change a single note or use another instrument for a specific track and have to always accept what the AI comes up with.

Sounds exhausting. Can't I just get an AI to do all that for me too?

Music is too humanly subjective for AI to be able to do a proper job for it. But it might be able to do some generic background music

Just wondering how Ai generates music.
Does AI use a DAW and VST instruments and effects and midi?

Correct. It sits down in it’s studio the morning, sips it’s cup of coffee and says:

“Alllllrighty… let’s see… user Prod_by_MeatBeater wants a ‘professionally mastered sounding lil Uzi Killa type trap beat with bouncy drums and saucy high hats’…?

Wtf… sighhh… aight…”

Ah ah, I can picture that...

But to answer the question, no, it doesn't .... like for drawings, it compares final results in a large database and mix and regurgitate something....
