Thanks for the answer. I looked up the old version and the tune knob adjusts the pitch envelope while the pitch knob sets the base pitch. If the pitch knob doesn’t snap to semitones in DZ2 it likely will not be possible to set precise pitches (without measuring, or a chart or something). Also if this feature lacks I believe there won’t be a way to play it chromatically as that makes no sense if tuning to specific notes is not supported.
Yeah, this must be a sort of cardinal error made by silly developers and in fact silly Roland inventors of a 909. And it indeed does not make any sense to do it like that.

At the same time, the same 909 machine (and its brother 808, 700s,600s,) was used literally to pave and define genres and countless hit records for more than two decades - without the stupid feature of setting "precise pitch" chromatically.

:idiot:

But hey "by popular demand", Roland gave it to the people in their latest TR-8S firmware. So you could purchase TR-8S instead and albeit not 909, you have an 808 model that can be tuned chromatically (and it's not true to the original).

Drumazon 2 is more for 909 weirdos.

Drumazon 2 is awesome if you want to sound design a 909 and sample it. Then you can pitch it however you want.

Of course you can sequence it in the machine as well which is great but honestly, a pitch perfect kick played chromatically has always been about sampling.

What I love about this plug is I can quickly get a ton of variations on the 909 sounds, sample them and I’m done and off to sequencing. It’s faster than digging through samples and pouring through the tr8s menu. At least for me. Great plugin for the upgrade price.

I am excited to dive deeper into the built-in sequencer. That alone is worth the upgrade, IMO.

It sounds really great and the new features are nice! v1 never really grabbed my attention for whatever reason. I messed up and didn't realize I even had an unused Drumazon v1 serial from Plugin Boutique that I never registered which I got free as part of a prior deal. I had already bought v2 for $59 and as soon as I registered the v1 serial, I got a 2nd v2 license in my D16 account. :dog:

I could have gotten v2 for either $29 or it looks like potentially free. Oh well, I don't mind supporting D16! $59 is still well worth it. Maybe I can sell/transfer the second license to someone for a good deal.

d16 is one of the best developers . . . best plugs . . . best people.

If you can sell it, you'll be able to get more than $30 for it. Check here:

You're right. It sound very good in stereo but not usable in mono. It's a good feature request to change that because it's not usable for most styles of dance music.

I just want to echo that D16 is amazing with support and just a great all-around company. I reached out explaining the situation. I asked if there was something that could be done and proposed a resolution which they were willing to accommodate me for. I asked without any expectation and wouldn't have been upset if they didn't help -- it was clearly my fault. They've really won a customer for life, and I'll be happy to support them again in the future.

Holy eff. I have an unregistered serial in my PB account. Thank you for posting this, I wouldn't even have looked!

Glad I could help someone! I didn't realize it at all until I went to save the new installer in my software folder backup and saw the installer for v1 sitting there. I did a quick 'Huh?' then searched my emails and found reference to the PB invoice. I had never claimed the v1 serial on the D16 site.

Enjoy!

My thoughts exactly. Much quicker and easier to use than the old one. Added effects and overall sound is excellent imo. Had a quick play with the demo and decided to upgrade within 10 minutes 😁

Oh wow, so do I! But I already owned their drum machine bundle. I wonder if you can give away the free code...

sounds great
would be good to have separate routable audio outputs available for each single effect within both Bus 1 and 2. Or even a single Insert available for each drum sound. The current serial bus setup is a bit limited. Also the weird set amount of effects that have to be juggled between Bus 1 and 2 is very nutty. I can only assume most of these decisions are to retain stability, which is great, but it's all a bit convoluted.

Definitely agree!
software is a tool that allows us to complete a given task.

Reading this I remembered I had Drumazon lying in wait at PB too... so many impulse buys that I haven't used, but this will be used soon.
