Nexus 5 is a sampler. Is it possible to create something like Synthogy Ivory II Studio Grands in Nexus 5? Synthogy Ivory II Studio Grands includes up to 24 discrete velocity levels with Sample Interpolation Technology for ultra-smooth velocity and note transitions. How many velocity levels can you create in Nexus 5? Will third parties create cool expansions for Nexus 5 like they create them for Kontakt?

That should work that it reads the note name from the file name. Can you send me the samples at roland.rabien@refx.com and I'll see what's going wrong.Touch The Universe wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 6:52 am Importing multi-samples is kind of a mess. I wish there was a way it would get the root notes from the file name. Auto detect root note usually always misses. If I select manually import first root note then select root step 6, so I'm sampling c and f#, it imports based on the order of the samples, paying no attention to the filename.
So
Sample c4
Sample c5
Sample c6
Sample f#4
Sample f#5
Sample f#6
It will load c4 correctly, but it will import next sample in order from above list, sample c5 to f#4, etc. instead of noticing the correct f#4 is actually 4 down from the list. Seems I need to go in there and rename the files to put in correct order.
I can append a filename 1 to each filename in order so next will be 2 etc, but I'll have to do this to all the samples I want to import.
Also, doesn't seem to read the loop points. I spent TOO much time manually assigning loop points that it's quite a bummer Nexus 5 won't read them. Please fix this!

Grab the dot at the bottom of the layer and drag, a new fx group will appear. Connect the wire to that fx group.ViRiX Dreamcore wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 6:12 am Here's a pop quiz, from looking at the UI, how do you add effects to a specific layer?
...
You have to right click on the layer at the top. Now that may seem obvious to someone who was using Nexus before or if you knew, but if you didn't, it can take some time to figure out.

As a tradition to Lord Supersaw, here is my usual Hello World patch. I still have yet to hear one like this in the factory presets LOL

Yes if you took the time to set up multiple velocity layers then yes why not, yes it's a sampler, and yes you can sample whatever you want. I've been making patches from the Moog One samples I have. Sequential Trigon, OB6 etc.. It all plays back incredible, being able to layer, route anything to everything, and assign these new effects are incredible.User3 wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 1:01 pm Nexus 5 is a sampler. Experimenting with some plucks via different "velocity" layers, seems more akin to round robin, alternating between samples. To be honest, I don't really know what I'm doing, just exploring

Nexus 5 is just my kind of synth. Multi-sample import into multi-layers plus other features. Nirvana.
But without a demo it's hard to justify a $200 purchase. Audio and video demos don't do a thing for me and I rarely even bother listening to them.
I need to know how it performs on my system, in my hands. Is it fun for me to program? Is the included sample content the kind I want and need? Is the GUI comfortable to view for long periods on my monitor and so on ? Questions that can't be answered without time spent with a demo version.
I do really want to add Nexus 5 to my collection but at this point I think I'll have to pass...

Yeah, seconded. I am considering a purchase but without a demo it's a no-go.Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:37 pm Nexus 5 is just my kind of synth. Multi-sample import into multi-layers plus other features. Nirvana.

Yep, unfortunetlyrevvy wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 11:10 am The GUI has lost the different colour options?
(Haven’t had time to upgrade yet).
That would be a shame.

@FigBug
Seems a bit of a backwards step. Any chance this feature will return?
