I have no idea what SSL have done for their software. I only know what their hardware sounds like and I matched the sound of The Glue as closely to that as possible given constraints.

no
seanturco wrote: At this Time, The glue sound nice and the GUI is understandable !
if you add a "digital option", The Gui wouldn't be understandable as now . ( I don't know if you understand what I mean  )
( it Would be a nighmare for a newbee to understand what is digital or soft clip )
I agree. I think it is best to leave out the "digital" over compression of transients completely. I think me doing a separate limiter product that has this clamping on transients a much better idea.

Andy, do you plan doing EQ plugin at some point?
I wonder how your approach could work on that.

well, cytomic is the bestest compressor plugin at the moment and the best emulation of ssl but still...its sooooo easy to hear where the real analog is. it has a bit another tone and which was mentioned above it doesnot make drums thin. something about mid and low end range.

...and about that spike/click/transient that was discussed earlier...it sounds much more pleasant with 8 or 16 oversampling.

Yes I will do an EQ some time in the future that models structure and non-linearities present in its circuit (haven't picked one yet). I won't do a linear EQ that just matches the output response of an analog EQ as this what has been done to death, although as a side product of my modelling I could easily deliver this by substituting all the tone of real components for perfectly linear ones.

Yes, that's what I hoped you would do=)

As far as model - maybe GML?

And any update on what you are working right now?
When can we expect announcement?

That'd be high on my Cytomic wishlist. It's a tricky unit to nail from what I hear. That, and an 1176LN would probably be my top 2, since I'm still looking for a suitable UAD 1176LN replacement (I've got it, just want something native and better sounding) and I know Andy's already had one go around at that while still with Fxpansion. I'd like to see how much take 2 could improve on that.

Of course it would !

Since the Waves CLA-2A, CLA-76, API 2500, Softube FET (1176), IK Opto Compressor (LA-2A) nail all the requests made here, I all for a Neve 33609, Vari-Mu and Massive Passive emulations.

Something that has not been nailed or at least done properly in native !

UA will update these eventually, but they will be UAD-2 only. I also expect IK versions to appear.

The only official word UA ever gave one way or the other on this topic was "no, we looked into it and decided it wouldn't be worth it."

I'm still holding out for IK versions though. I really like their Fairchild, and Pultec.

Still, I look forward to seeing what Andy can do as well.
