I'm not trying to tear down Spire. I'm trying to build it up. It's so much better than reveal themselves give it credit for. It could be THE best soft synth if they would stop catering to a certain crowd and get more interested in quality over quantity. The filters are VERY good. It's the oscillators and envelopes that need help. I also wish that the preset list would return to the last preset you were working with, instead of making you go through the whole list again.

Basically I wish Spire could sound fatter/darker/rougher. But now I have Rapid for that, while Spire does clean/mellow side of Virus, Rapid covers the dark/rough side.

Not sure I get you, but what happens if you set all amp env sliders to zero? Or only the sustain to max? Or use another env to neutralize the amp envelopeDasheesh wrote:So has anybody figured out a way to slow these envelopes down? Also, I have 4 oscillators I can play with. I have a patch where I want to latch the amp of the first two oscillators and the second two oscillators to the mod wheel, so that when I turn up the mod wheel it takes out the amp on the first two and brings in the amp on the second two. I want them to be sweepable, but I'm unable to unlatch envelope one from the amp, which I said was a mistake for spire from the beginning.

you have the ability to slow the rise and fall of envelopes on a lot of modern soft synths. It would be nice for spire. It should be set up more like a modular and given oversampling, or what ever it is that makes it so dirty when using the FMing and AMing functionality.

Frankly, catering a "certain crowd" is the reason why Spire got so big in the first place. But who cares really what crowd they cater? Spire is very good for any kind of music. And i almost feel sorry for the people who pass on it, just because "it caters a certain crowd".kevvvvv wrote:DasheeshExactlyif they would stop catering to a certain crowd and get more interested in quality over quantity. Being a part of the "certain crowd" I'd love to see sound quality improvements on the oscillators and envelopes side.

Talking of sound quality improvements, i'd like to see a new, more analog modelled filter. The existing filters are nice, but, i never really liked the resonance behavior on high settings. Moog ladder "inspired" filter would be great.

Maybe just improving the resonance bevaviour in the existing filters. But fatter sounding oscillators and better envelopes, with more "bang"and more smooth attack phase would be really geat enhancement.
I can compare Spire with "that" harware synth and the envelopes is where the difference is the most obvious.

Or that, yeah.recursive one wrote:Maybe just improving the resonance bevaviour in the existing filters.
Does the Virus even have more bang in the envelopes? I'm actually quite happy with that on Spire.
