Well they both used other people's paintings as cover art.

They never had pictures of themselves on any of their album covers?

Hmmmyes... though that in itself is not quite uncommon. No cigar yet, but very close.

My list would've had more than two bands then :hihi:

Not sure, but did they use other people's art for a cover and use it for the album name too?

Post

That's it! Both "Appetite for destruction" and "Revenge of the goldfish" were initially just cover artwork, but later also used as album title.

There are probably more examples, but I cant think of any... and Thomas Dolby's "Close but no cigar" doesn't count :hihi:

OK then...

What links the following?

Midnight Oil
Sonic Youth
Fleetwood Mac
Nirvana
The Cars
Boston

(This link could apply to other bands too, I just know the link exists for these)

OK, a clue then - something that links one person from each of the bands.

Post

each one of the bands has a tall band member.

Is it something to do with band members who went on to have careers in politics?

Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil became a (largely disappointing and ineffectual) Minister for the Environment in the Australian Federal Government, and is now our Minister for Sad Compromise and Diminished Expectations. And I vaguely remember a story about Krist Novoselic running for office somewhere.

Interesting theory! If that was the case, shouldn't Blur be in the list ?

Oh, and re: "Minister for Sad Compromise and Diminished Expectations". Aren't they all? :(

OK, I'll give you that - each band has a member of 6'4" or taller.
