:D
nothing like a little bit of pedantics late on a sunday night.

as per that bit of conversation: Albini's production on In Utero is far superior to anything butch mtv or whatever his last name is has done.
imo, that is. :D
although i do like a lot of his work with Garbage.
Actually, watershed is a geological term refering to the area of land which drains into any particular river. It is therefore also used to define the BOUNDRY between one river's watershed or catchment area and that of a neighbouring river.

Naturally, this dividing line tends to run along high ground, either an upland, hilly or mountainous ridge where the rain that falls on one side will drain into one river and the rain that falls on the other side will drain in the other direction into the other river.

Used as a METAPHOR the term 'watershed' therfore describes any boundry point, or turning point where things that flowed in one direction, or were associated with one particular area now flow in a new direction or are associated with a whole new territory.

....ie after Nevermind every guitar band on the planet, it seemed, was a (usually piss poor!) tributary to the River Grunge...

BTW do you remember how every fking summer for the whole of the later half of the 90's bedroom guitarists would open their bedroom windows on a sunny day and play Nirvana solo's from TAB , mainly 'Smell like...' :dog:

...anyway, I digress

Yes yes, you can all hate me. I would say Jean michell jarre or what the hell his name is. I personally find his music boring and while he may know how to use a synthesizers he doesn't know how to make good music imo!

Actually, Watershed is a Foo Fighter song off their first album...nothing to do with Kurt Cobain(too much P2P for you!) :hihi:[/quote]

Dude!
Sorry i couldn't respond to that statement of yours in time [been busy for a li'l while] and someone else beat me to it, but he IS right you know, "Watershed" is something definitive, Like the Nevermind album which people still remember even though they might not remember a lot of other contemporary Grunge discs.

Too much P2P for me? Naah, buddy -- too little reading for you. :hihi:

Has anyone mentioned 'the shed' yet?

"shed seven"? for some reason that reminds me of this site [not music-oriented, but still cool, though] called "sevensheaven". it's at www.sevensheaven.nl
