I also get both these crashes, using elicenser 0.90, Fl Studio 10.02, windows 7 32-bit,Ingonator wrote:After receiving and installing the eLicenser code I have installed and tested the full version of Synthix now.
Everything runs perfectly (including saving presets) but i found two crashes:
- when i deselect "use Factory" in the first tab of the preset browser
- when i close the Ableton Live project (like in the first version of the Synthix demo)
I have used Synthix v0.9.0 (from 21.6.2011) on Ableton Live 8.2.2 and Windows 7 32-bit.

1/ The Ableton "crash on exit" ( Also happened in some Logic versions ) has been fixed on the Dongleless Demo version. It should be fixed very soon in full version.
2/ The "USe factory" bug, although it has no implications, will be fixed too very quick. Its a forgotten consequence of the Demo Mode Version implementation.
Thanks for reporting
Well I'd say that, eventually -until now-, there are even less bugs than we thought/feared with the RC version.
A good thing.
So its almost a 1.0 version

Just tried it briefly after getting the Elicenser code (thanks Xavier) and I love it! To me it sounds vastly different from PolyKB2, I even set similar patches on each synth. To me Synthix sounds more wooly (bit sh-101 Roland like) than PolyKb2 and has somehow warmer low-mids and smoother highs or something (makes Synthix a bit more vintage sounding), hard to explain
I absolutely love the sound and it's a welcome addition to my arsenal. Love that Rubycon preset Lotuzia, was just listening to TD couple of days ago
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

I agree to that. There is almost not a single part that is really identical to PolyKB II. The biggest differences are in the filter, the envelopes and the Chorus FX. Of course the oscillators are also vastly different as you could use all at once in Synthix which is impossible with the knob in PolyKB II.penguinfromdeep wrote:Just tried it briefly after getting the Elicenser code (thanks Xavier) and I love it! Like already mentioned the sound of the Synthix and the PolyKB II are really differnt even with identical settings. When i find some time i'll try to reproduce one of my Synthix presets on PolyKB II and post an A/B comparison. Maybe Sonicprojects OP-X Pro II could be added to that comparison too.
IMO

I took Synthix out for a little test drive last night... just getting familiar with some of the basic controls and sounds. So far it seems pretty interesting. It has those lovely sound imperfections that Xavier does so well and seems well appointed with options for sound design.
I find the UI a bit small and complicated, but I'm sure familiarity would eliminate my unease. I'm not crazy about the button switches, as found on the PolyKB, but again if the sound appeals to me I can live with just about any UI quirks.
The presets were kind of a mixed bag for me. I find that too many of them are soaked with delay... much like with the PolyKB presets actually. The ones that really stood out for me were the SD presets - there are some stunning pads and interesting arps in that bunch.
Anyhow, my overall first impression is quite positive and I'm definitely going to explore it further. All the best with your new synth!

The new non-dongled demo solved the crash on de-instantiate problem I was having in Reaper 32-bit on WinXP. Seems to work just fine now. Now I just have to find time later this week to explore it more and see how well it might fit into my overall sonic palette. Initial impression is that it sounds very good, though.

I got the idea to make this one reading a KVR thread about Tangerine Dream. I made a first attempt wich was so-so, then finally ended with this one wich is defintely more in the mood

Yes Ingo the PolyKB are capable of continous morphing while the Synthix one have sevral sophisticated mode, wich is totally different.Ingonator wrote:I agree to that. And yes again all is different : Filters, and something wich is over neglected but has a deep and TRUE impact on instruments : ENVELOPES

What we tried to achieve is : If you consider how deep you can go in programming with Synthix, then the Single Panel GUI is not so complicated.
The buttons well some people were sorry we removed the Octave Switches wich were on the original Synthex. Hmmm very difficult to please everybody I think.
Then Simon made some extraordinary presets for the Synthix/ I guess its not that often that you'll find some presets you can use directly in your music Polyslax
Well many Sound Designers worked on the Synthix instruments : Simon Ball ( SOundsDivine or SD ), Peter Schelfhout, Kelvin Ford, Tzadi, Vivolator, Matt Hooper and .... the mysterious PW. Not forgetting the humble me.
Each has his own style and this is a good opportunity for me to give them a BIG THANK YOU !
Without them, the Synthix would NOT be what it is : A wonderful musical instrument trying to offer as many different instruments and colours in SOund Design as possible !

This means you should hurry with v1.0 and the presets.
