The only thing is that mux cannot (according to mutools) have that sync thing where if you hit a second note it will be in time with the other. It has to be quantized perfectly for them to sync up. Very difficult to deal with compared to other synths that don't have this issue.

hehe now you totally lost me!
Do you mean note on sync? For the hard bass thing? No..?
Maybe it was in reply to something else...

It was just kinda a general comment. You guys talking about sylenth right? I'm pretty sure that sylenth would do what I'm saying. Maybe I'll make an example a little later when I wake upCrackbaby wrote:hehe now you totally lost me!

But that's a different thingie...Ingonator wrote: You could also check the "Hyperjuno" MUX preset for U-NO-LX which i already posted at the U-NO-LX thread:
I did not use Sylenth1 in the MUX... my patch is pure MUX without using any VST!!!

If you mean a Oscillator sync like on many hard sync sounds, that's true that afaik it is not doable with MUX atm...with Sylenth1 as well not afaikhibidy wrote:It was just kinda a general comment. If you mean the retrigger option, which stops the oscillators from free running, this is included already but a little bit hidden:
On the top of the Oscillator module GUI click the options menu and then the last point "Edit" ... change the Phase setting from random to a numeric value eh voila...the oscillators have a fixed phase whenever they are triggered!!!!

The "Smart bypass", how does it work? If i put a 1->2 in front of it and set it to 100% one side so that no audio goes through a plugin (which i've setup a smart bypass for), will it go passive and not put any strain on the cpu?
I plan to use this where i will either use the plugin or not at all - should i set a longer delay? What do you recommend?
This is for a generic "mux channel" with eq, compressor and preamp plugins so having one on each drumsample where they're all active would be quite some weight on the cpu.

Hi,
i just started an experiment to try recreating the synth engine of the Hammond Novachord inside MUX (using the internal engine).
My referencde is the Soniccouture Novachord Kontakt instrument which got the original controls.
Here is a part of the SC Novachord manual:
"The front panel of the Novachord provides the player with an array of levers
that control various aspects of the instrument.
Starting from the left, the first 6 levers control the relative levels of a set of six filters. Starting from the left, these are: Deep Tone (a low pass filter), First Resonator, Second Resonator, and Third Resonator (which are resonant band pass filters), Brilliant Tone (which is a high pass filter), and Full
Tone (a sum of all the other filters.)
Blending these six filter channels is how you control the timbre of the
Novachord, very much like stops on an organ.
After this there is a control for Bright-Mellow, which is a very gentle low pass filter over the entire output. There is a Balancer lever, which controls the keyboard tracking of the filters."
Basically the Novachord main interface seems to be mostly a mixer for 7 different filters where the "Mellow/Bright" control is another LPF.
Some links about the hardware:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novachord
http://www.discretesynthesizers.com/nova/intro.htm

Here is a screenshot of one of my Soniccouture Novachord presets:

This is a screenshot of the current MUX preset (work in progress...):

here you could download the first version of my Novachord MUX preset:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/Novachord%2001.Mux
It includes a waveform i created with the DNR Wave Designer plugin based on a sample from SC Novachord. You could get the WAV file here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/Novachord-Saw1.zip
This is a first try and further optimizations will follow i hope. There could be done several adjustments of the Cutoffs for the many different filters for example. I used a signal analyzer and me ears to adjust the parameters based on the SC Novachord Kontakt instrument.
Have fun,
Ingo

It was made in maschine so forget arrangements
Just 8 bars and then another etc
But i think it shows how cool the sounds are you can create with Mux and Ingo's Novachord.

Many thanks for you kind words and the demo. And that MUX is not even fully optimized. I think the final one will be even better.Crackbaby wrote:It was made in maschine so forget arrangementsJust 8 bars and then another etc

Most of the time went into analyzing the synth engine of the real thing, adjusting the Cutoffs of the several filters and recreating the waveform.
Adding all the modules and controls to MUX was only the smallest part.
If others got ideas for improvements they could post a MUX preset here.

Is there a chance of seeing the bitreducer and the other mods going into mux soon..?

I justed checked how the Multisample module works.
How about adding Virus Hypersaw multisamples to the Novachord engine...
I got a bunch of multisamples made with a TI.

Here is the first version of the Virus TI multisamples included with the Novachord synth engine:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/HyperNova%2001.Mux
You'll need the samples for this which are available here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/Virus%20TI.zip
Pleses copy the folder "Virus TI2 with the samples into the MUX library e.g. to \vstplugins\MUX (32-bit)\app\Library\Samples\Tones
I have checked this process with my second PC (= notebook) and it seems to work nicely. The samples were loaded correctly.

UPDATE;
Another preset:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/HyperNova%2002.Mux
For this you'll need the samples in the download above.
UPDATE:
I jiust did some sontaneous "noodling" with the first preset called "HyperNova 01":
MUX HyperNova Demo 1
This uses the pure pad sound without external effects. The Piano is a DX Piano from the MUX factory sounds with the additional Dimesnion D Chorus from Empty Room Systems.

Hi,
yesterday i started using the Multi sample module with some of my own samples (see my post above) and now i have serious problems using MUX with Ableton Live 8.
Loading the Live project with the MUX preset i published above could either take ages (up to several minutes, in one case almost 10 minutes...).
This even happened after i re-saved the project using a preset that does not use any samples.
Maybe the problem is with embedding the samples into the MUX preset. I'll check what happens if i use the samples independent from the MUX preset.
UPDATE:
After deleting the embedded samples everything works normal again. I'll now check what happens when i use the samples from an external folder without embedding them into the MUX preset.
UPDATE:
The problem is solved if i keep the samples at an external folder like in the MUX library. This way also the MUX presets are very small again.
I'll update the downloads above with the new MUX presets and an additional download for the samples.
UPDATE:
I just uploaded the MUX presets above and added an extra download for the samples. I have tested this also with my Notebook too and the samples loaded fine there.

This MUX stuff looks GREAT and it's certainly fairly priced. Might very very very well be my next purchase - I'm actually a little excited now (because I've been having that itch - I need something NEW
.
I wish you Mutools guys the best of luck with this thing. I think you can count on my becoming a customer rather quickly. Looks like you've got a winner here. Congrats.
