something new from NI

I examined the video frame by frame and what sticks in my mind - at first I thought they were a bunch of midi meters like NI uses, but they look like a bunch of circles with bear paws in the middle and there's a line box around a couple of them....

One question : If this is the one synth that rules them all, what are NI going to make of their other synths, like Massive, FM8 etc ?
These kind of adverts might have two sides, two blades, except ....
If its a kind of shell who would be able to load all NI modules, a la Kore II, but this time restricted to only NI synths maybe, to avoid all the problems beeing compatible with an infinity of non NI instruments.
Well, we'll see

The outlines roughly follow the Minimoog's sections, complete with the "give away" 3 envelope knobs on the right. So it's Minimoog related in some way.osiris wrote:I examined the video frame by frame and what sticks in my mind - at first I thought they were a bunch of midi meters like NI uses, but they look like a bunch of circles with bear paws in the middle and there's a line box around a couple of them....

The other thing visible in the video is the Reaktor like construction with "wires" between various sections. Whether this is actually a reflection of under the hood tweaking possibilities, or just the fact that it's built on Reaktor 6 tech? Dunno. I guess we'll find out mid-April
The choice of sounds on the demos doesn't give much away either (Compressed dynamics?) The drive/distortion seems good, but I wouldn't read anything more into things based on those..

Monark and Reaktor share "r", "k", "o" and "a".
So the differences appear to be "M*n***" vs "*e**t**". It's clear ! The new product will be Reaktor without "e" and "t" but with "M" and "n". So simple.

If there are bear paws in the GUI, they could have called it Kodiak. It even starts AND ends with a K. Ads with big mean bears in them (the ursine variety or hairy, muscular dudes who make angry, tres butch electronic music when they're not riding their Harleys - Grrrrr!). Yeah.osiris wrote:I examined the video frame by frame and what sticks in my mind - at first I thought they were a bunch of midi meters like NI uses, but they look like a bunch of circles with bear paws in the middle and there's a line box around a couple of them....

One synth to rule them all. Years of meticulous research and the latest in cutting-edge DSP technology combine to deliver a virtual synth with teeth. Stay tuned.

Wouldn't that be like shooting in your own foot for NI though?realmarco wrote:One synth to rule them all.

Hm, maybe it's a modular combining ALL NI synths! How awesome and breathtakingly-large GUI would that be.Neon Breath wrote:Wouldn't that be like shooting in your own foot for NI though?realmarco wrote:One synth to rule them all.
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

That would be great since I already have Diva and could save some money, as well as time from looking in this thread anymore.ENV1 wrote:Definitely minimoog.

Yup I think this is dead on now.ENV1 wrote:Definitely minimoog.
The time scale (10, 200, 600 ms) and the waveforms are dead giveaways.
Actually I think this might be in Reaktor...
All hail the new Minimoog Ensemble Reaktor Instrument, in... wait for it..
Reaktor 6!!!

Are we really sure that's the real UI? Or is it just a representation of "a synth" pulled up to illustrate that they are making a synth?
Wait, M stands for...

Probably not, because the arrangement of the interface elements fits exactly too.JoeCat wrote:I'm thinking you nailed it, but sure hope you're wrong...
Just compare this cutout from Arturias minimoog.
Match = 100%, only the NI image doesnt have the rocker switches. (Yet.)
