Conclusion: I don't like to pay for every 0.1 maintenance update sorry.. ..like you said customers had to make a decision so i.. ..and guess what? I don't care anymore. Time to move on from this "sale"..

Where does it say in any of the above announcements that the 6.6 update is a paid one? The last paid update was 6.5 and that was €19. This is deceptive pricing.

Not an answer, we already knew 6.4 to 6.5 was a paid update, my question was in relation to 6.5 to 6.6 which is stated everywhere as free, so where the extra €10 comes from is unstated. It just seems to be some sort of tactic to ensure when it went on sale, which many people have been asking for, it didn't actually go on sale at all in real figures. Why would anyone ask for a sale expecting the sale price would be higher?

Post

It's very simple: 6.x to 6.5 was 19 EUR. Once 6.6 got released (a moth ago) raised to 29 EUR, but 6.5 customers get it for free. Nothing dramatic, but the more you wait the more expensive the update is likely to be.

Yes but nowhere did you advertise this price rise, I see now why you don't state upgrade prices explicitly on your site or in KvR adverts, as it means you can change them when you want without people realising. It's also a very mean spirited pricing model to add a penalty charge to long standing customers just for holding out from giving you money straight away even though you are not charging for the update from 6.5 to 6.6 (and not telling anyone you are planning to increase the price this way, so customers can't even make informed decisions).

Yep exactly that. What a mess now with his obscure price policies. Thumbs down!

It has been two moths from 6.5 to 6.6. It got remarkable new features (VST3, standalone, GUI enhancements, etc.) and I don't think it deserves a customer who paid the 19 EUR fee in a reasonable time frame or a new 6.5 one to pay anything more.

I understand that you work hard and you want a payment for it.. But IMO upgrade price should be only asked from version going up from for example 6 to 7. Current model can easily alienate customers..

No one is saying they should. Or that you shouldn't have asked for an update fee at 6.5 - although how you went about trying to force the hands of users into paying it by removing installers from accounts and tying it to a major bug fix was one reason why some of us held back at the time - your latest sneaky tactic is alienating your users even more.

But you do think that users like me who believed your words of an update sale and therefore waited with the purchase should pay now more then before? Why do you think i ask you?

Thanx for the offer but i would prefer to be treated like a customer and not like a supplicant.

Been waiting for, and asking for, that crossgrade sale. I really feel disappointed now. Well, maybe it's better to save for hardware :hihi:
