Just hold a note and it'll do some ugly stuff. I'm not sure if anyone else finds this kind of thing useful but it's fun for me. :)
I like this also. I haven't featured Bazille in much of my "music" lately, lots of Reaktor, and a bunch of new synths. But I appreciate stuff like this. A lot of my own stuff is really more something that I will call "long form sound design" rather than anything that most people would call music.

Actually, I just had some inspiration. Thanks KVR!

NerdMcBoon, justin3am, thanks. :)
I would appreciate any other answers to my question.

If anyone's interested, the quote I used is taken from the first page of the topic.

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

You got the answers. Bazille is unique. Comparing it to Dune 2 is pointless, because it's apples and oranges. Dune is all about unison and that kind of stuff. Bazille is about digital oscillators, modular routing, everything is audio-rate, and just out of this world crazy stuff no other synth can do (except perhaps Reaktor).

I've never compared them to each other.
I'm just asking for architectural descriptions — you gave me one, for example.
DUNE 2 was there for an example of an achitectural description.

Yeah man, EvilDragon is right, you've been given the entire answer. I'm not sure what else anyone can tell you that will help "you."

Wouldn't you guys prefer talking about u-he's upcoming Prophet 5 emulation? :tu:
Topic title says "Bazille - most misunderstood synth?", not U-HE Prophet 5 dicussion... :? Maybe make a separate topic?

In a word, no. Unless he's gone to great lengths to emulate the SSM2040, which, if I understand, is not on the table ATM, it's not that interesting to me.

For me, the Rev 3 P5s weren't all that. I think that a lot of their reputation actually belongs to the Rev 1/2 P5s. I owned a Rev 3 and sold it. It's not a synth that I regret selling TBH.

It's amazing to me that people still go on and on about emulations. What I would much prefer to a P5 emulation is a well done SSM2040 filter in Diva. That would get me excited.

The Repro-1 is interesting, in part, BECAUSE it's a monosynth and has that cool sequencer. I only pay Urs for the serious technological advancement that he does. That's why I didn't buy Hive, it's a compromise and I'm not interested in that. There's no shortage of compromise in the audio software business. Without a 2040 model, a P5 is mostly just repackaging of Repro-1 code. That's just a product and I'm not at all interested. Now, if I'm wrong and there is a 2040 model, then I'll pay attention.

Why? Least interesting synth I could imagine.

Pure analogue warmth and bliss.
Because not everyone shares your exact point of view on things.

I have Prophet 6 and it's almost like this. Really warm and sweet. I can see P6 and RePro-5 as good integration by itself.

P5 Emu is great news
Murderous duck!
