But clearly you're a 42 year old female?
Maybe I don't get the joke here, but I'm a male born in 1969.
I think it must be
1980 -> 2022 => 42 years
F => Female

Yes that was my weekly attempt at humor. I too am middle aged. Hopefully it will work out ok in the end.

1982-F (for reals). I started song writing when I was 28, after I picked up a pawned banjo like thing in Singapore and invented some long forgotten tuning. Unlike most of you I was into my 30s before I started studying synths and composing music. I didn't have many musician friends growing up. Just decided one day I'm going for it. What ever "it" is :-) I have brothers, and always felt left out of boy things. So I just do my own thing, I guess :wink:

Voted. Great job all round making the FB-7999 sound great - lots of interesting timbres and nicely done songs.

And thanks to Richard and BJ as always for keeping this going!

And of course, thanks to Björn for continuing to crank out great synths!

I just did a very rough analysis of the top 5 places for the last 5 rounds and got this split in terms of genres/tone:

Oh that's really interesting, thank you for sharing this.

Nowt EDM is a term that is not really well defined. Actually I get the impression that if you get to close to a well defined genre (I'm thinking particularly of Davi-dj's track in January for instance, which for me was one of the best tracks of the month and ended around the half). I'm definitely going to do stats (also just cauz I like doing stats, looks like you do too hahahaha).

Not sure how you made your classification, I would have expected a lot more synth pop / synthwave but you I should do the same as you and see what I get ! Totally agree on doing what you like !
Ohh thanks for your mention Diaesis

Just for the record: Is or was any participant female? I don't mean, if anyone changed sex like Walter/Wendy Carlos, but if ever a female person has contributed to the challenge?
not sure what wendy carlos has to do with anything, or why you would use her old name... anyways, i'm really closer to nonbinary but i wouldn't say i'm not female. (i'm sure the question is well intentioned but it does risk coming across as exoticizing. the record may not be entirely reliable.)

other fun facts about me: i was born in 1983, and i have cast my votes.

I didn't want to offend anyone with the Wendy Carlos thing. I only thought of the double meaning of the question "was any participant female" in the sense of "but it isn't it anymore" as a kind of joke. Probably a little bit out of place. Sorry.

At least in pop music there are many female singers and songwriters, but generally making music (playing in a band or doing stuff like we do in the OSC) seems to be a "male thing". So I want to know if any woman are part of the OSC community.

In Germany this is a real iconic instrumental in the 1980s. It was used as the title theme of a famous TV show.

I was born in the summer of 68 and thus am old enough to remember both the song and the show. :oops:

I don't really understand what you're tring to imply here but it happens that I'm a transgender woman, which makes me a female participant of this challenge.

Well just saw this but I still maintain what I say : even if it is a joke, are you implying that transgender women aren't women ? (it's a real question). Still computer science and nerdy stuff are often majoritarly a "male" thing, so I can understand why you're asking.
