I know it looks like I was directing this at the person who posted this link, but that was not meant for them, it was a general overall statement to everyone who has been hyper butthurt and drama about taking it personal that MA made a bad decisionDouble Tap wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 6:02 pmHow is giving people news about what MA is saying being harsh?vertibration wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 2:44 pmGive them a chance.....How many people on KVR are perfect? Well, the closest is Phaseplant tbh to this plugin, and Kilohearts knocked it out of the park with how they present their products to consumers. Even giving away the majority of their effects for free. Every company is different, and has different needs...not to mention...you never know who they are in debt to.....investors baby.

A couple of years back it was a lot more expensive... I think. Actually, I forget the details, but I'm sure the price has come down quite a bit. The thing that concerns me is whether these companies can keep going with prices as they are. The snap-in system is probably my most used suite of FX, and I love Phase Plant also, I want to see them endure.vertibration wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 6:29 pmEven giving away the majority of their effects for free.

in a video, or better a stream, with a conversation with the developers of kilohearts they mention that when phaseplant was released, and it will be sometime afterwards, they could live from it.
it was some weeks ago, i think. bottom line: they made a sustainable businessmodel.

There was some grumbling. For a while, it was about how expensive it was, for all the effects to use in the synth. People scavenged ways to get the effects on the cheap (music magazine stuff, sales). Then when they changed their pricing model, there was grumbling from those (me included) who had gone that scavenger route--and now, what, a bunch of the plugins are free? So it goes.vertibration wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 6:29 pm Well, the closest is Phaseplant tbh to this plugin, and Kilohearts knocked it out of the park with how they present their products to consumers. Perhaps the strong reactions to Minimal Audio speak to how loved/liked they were previously. To see them go this route in this sort of way bummed a bunch of us out. They were on our list as one of the good plugin developers--and that list is small in some people's eyes. I hope they bounce back.

Very good point, and they should actually be happy and not bummed that they got such a response. Even if it was bad. It means people cared enough to talk about it .Dirtgrain wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 7:48 pmThere was some grumbling.
