Ah, that "cut everything below -70dB". Hm. Shouldn't be an issue. The noise files are at -36dB, and in the "lowered faders" version, the last fader is at -15dB, which results in audio at -51dB, so it SHOULD be ok, even in the buggy Tracktion 1.6 :)

Post

Yeah, I am still working with 1.6 for almost 2years and I only noticed this (with my DT770's only) in just one song.

BTW yahoo keeps timing out :x

Stefan, I could do that with eXT, Project5v2, Storm 2, Samplitude (Magix AudioStudio), Logic 3x (Magix MidiStudio) and Sonar 4 .... (hm... - maybe I should also install my old version of Ntrack again... ) ... oh, and DeltaSP of course

And I could do it later today using Vegas. PM sent.

Result from zeoy's test (this is what I wrote in my reply to him):

"Your renders are a bit off, they aren't exactly 0.5 seconds long (a few samples shorter). That's why you had problems with the cancellation.
I trimmed my renders to be starting and ending exactly like yours.
The 0dB version = difference at around -160dB after cancellation
The fading version = difference at around -160dB after cancellation
There are however a few spikes (2-3) in the cancelled audio, at around -110 to -130dB. It's quite obvious that these are due to some kind of a bug in one of the hosts. Which, I do not know. "

The resulting audio from the Tracktion mixdown was 22016 samples long, not 22050. One sample was missing in the start, and a bunch missing in the end of the render. Dunno why :)

I'll mail the files to you, jens and nuisance sonore.

Keep in mind that the host must support 32bit wav's and 32bit renderings (I've seen hosts that doesn't....).

Those spikes @ -110 to -130 dB are worrying me ... huge differences

Regarding my shorter renders, maybe the problem is that I checked the "only render marked region" setting and maybe the markers were a bit off.

Thanx for taking care of my lousy renders. I feel better now

Those spikes could be due to some fishy bug in the tracktion rendering. We already know that it is buggy, so I wouldn't fully rely on it doing this correctly either :) We'll see how the other renders turn out.

When I said that these spikes are worrying me it was clearly sarcastic. I hope that was clear. Even if it is due to T1's buggy renedering don't think it's a major issue in real life situations (I felt like defending my beloved T here  )

Such is the case with Vegas unfortunately, 16 and 24 bit only...

EnergyXT, faders at 0dB, difference from podium at ~ -160dB. No spikes.

I guess one would have to go with 24bit then :)
