I'll post my setup here tomorrow after I get it setup next to my current one. :D

Pics are kinda old, I have a different micpre and mics now. Also got rid of one of the shitty Behringer mixers, it was adding too much noise to the signal. :hihi: Using a different keyboard as well with a NanoKontrol attached on top, as I could never get the knobs and buttons on the freakin Oxygen to work. :? Sadly I'm still stuck with the same midget speakers, it's a wonder I can mix a gd thing.

Arglebargle, you should consider getting some KRK RP5's on Ebay. I think they're the best value when it comes to lowest price / quality ratio.

How wuold you say they compare to the Alesis M1 mk II? Those have been on my shopping list for a long time, but I've heard mention of those KRKs as well.

I used to work for a pro audio retailer and had a (very long) chance to compare a vast array of monitors. My first pair of monitors that I had were Mackie HR624s and after comparing my options thoroughly I ended up getting my Dynaudio's.

I also got to hear the Alesis M1's and the MKII's. Personally I think they're less balanced than the Mackie's. Honestly you can't go wrong with a company that specializes in monitoring setups. I think it's no contest when it comes to Alesis vs KRK. The KRK's come in second, right after the Dynaudio's for me.

My current setup (hardly a studio though)

Image

Dell laptop with various software/plugs, Yamaha DX7, Kurzweil PC3x, Emu Tracker Pre, Novation Nocturn, M-Audio BX5a. underneath the keyboard stand is a small table with an external drive (not shown)and room for a mixer which I haven't bought yet.
I took it the day I got my Kurzweil which is like 2 months ago. The laptop is placed on a keyboard stand with a red metal shelf (from some IKEA thingy) placed on top. It's far from idea but I don't what else to do :hihi:
I also have a very cheap Washburn bass guitar which I can't play  (not on pic either)

Old (Early 2008)
Hard to believe I didn't own a single VST at this point, I was all Hardware then recorded into PT for mixdowns, and nothing more.

Nice .. A7's on their sides? have you tried them Vertical with the pads? ... going on what Adam recommended, I placed them upright on the mopads and there is a definite difference

Nice pics peeps, but I'm a bit alarmed at the lack of room treatment in a lot of these.

thanks to advice from some people here I made up some bass traps and the Adams really showed their true colours, seemed to really open up the back to front image and placement was so much more defined .. took 4 days but well worth it :)
