The magical BLIT state machine, yes? :)

I've read somewhere that the LFOs in Surge are processed on every 32th sample. Is this correct?

Post

Yes!

Post

But the whole 32 samples get to be processed in a single block, so you get linear interpolation between the start and end of the block, IIRC.

Post

My Feature Request: Add a new option High-Resolution Mode for LFOs.
With audio-rate processing. Or (if audio-rate is a CPU killer) : Update every 4 samples.

Post

It's not something that can easily be made into an option, from what I can tell, since it's an instantiation time thing (lots of other things depend on this block size, so it's pretty radical to expect to change it at runtime). But we're looking into reducing the block size to 16 or maybe even 8 for XT2. 4 would probably waste too much CPU.

This is correct the entire synth is based on the idea of the components individually evaluating a block and doing internal interpolation across the block of parameter changes or modulations. The lfos evaluate and reset their target every 32 samples (and similarly midi is quantized to 32 samples erc)

Hi. I am a little late to the game here. I BOUGHT (with hard earned money) Stochas, B-step, Monique. I was about to download the latest installers and get them back on my system after I updated the OS. Anyway... what the hell happened? Actually, I dont really care, as a paying customer I just want access to my products. Now that they are open source, how do I get them? I found the downloader for Stochas but not the others. I am not a coder and I dont use github. I am just a stupid musician that stupidly pay devs for products and hopes the dev doesn't unethically abandon their customers. I lose.

Can someone point me to the downloaders please?

There you'll find the newest build of either.
You said you have Stochas already, but I can recommend the dev version above, there's a couple little bug fixes in there.

Be advised, those are dev/nightly builds and aren't 100% guaranteed to be stable. My guess is they are the most reliable versions of these products you could find right now though!

Thank you so much. I will add Dave Clissold amd Thomas Arndt to my list of software freeloaders.

Not sure what that means but glad I could help! :)

It took me less than 30 seconds to write stochas in a search bar and find the page for it as the top result
