I have, a classical (Washburn) and two electric guitars (Ibanez 540R and a Gibson SG), but only one acoustic guitar:- my lovely but rather "wearing" Maton I've had since 1979. It records beautifully, but I play it so much I really could use a second acoustic gat so I don't "do that one to death". IT's a handcrafted Australian guitar. Next one?... Martin, Maton, Guild? Not quite sure what's next as I tend to put any spare $ into studio gear......but sooner or later I am going to have to find something.

From your selection I'd say none of them if your primary concern is pricing.
I loved Guilds back in the 70's but I really wonder if the Fender Guilds are all that.
If you've had your acoustic since the 70's and it still plays,,,, Keep it. Unlike classical guitars, acoustic guitars sould better the more you play them. And if it's properly maintained it may outlive you. My theory teacher had a 1938 martin that sounded like heaven. Granted it was refretted but the rest of it was never touched.
I've never had much luck with acoustics and actually only owned a few. My favorite was an Ovation 12 string back in the 70's. It had an aluminum neck which was great for tone and stability oddly but the top wasn't reinforced properly. so it started pulling from the bridge and cracked up.
I've given up on acoustic guitars due to all the issues with recording and live performance. The only thing I use for acoustic "esque" stuff is my Godin LR Baggs model. It was the predessesor of the acoustcaster with better electronics a thinner neck and these tines inside the body that vibrated sympathicly with the strings. It sounds like heaven to my ears. and plays like heaven to my fingers.

You want a solid top, dont waste your time on anything but because it will not only sound better now but it will age nicely and will sound better as it ages. As for brands that's up to you and which one speaks to you and feels right. However as far as value goes I would highly suggest a Seagull as they look great, sound better and are quite a good value but I guess that also depends on where you arerocksure wrote:I have, a classical (Washburn) and two electric guitars (Ibanez 540R and a Gibson SG), but only one acoustic guitar:- my lovely but rather "wearing" Maton I've had since 1979. Beautiful! Another model I wasn't aware of - looks like it's essentially a 1205 with a different top wood? I'll be interested to hear observations on the overall sound, having no experience myself with Nordstrand Big Singles (I'm assuming the sound will be at least somewhat Jazz Bass-esque with a pair of single coils in those positions).hibidy wrote:What is this?

It's pretty modern sounding tbh. I haven't played bass seriously for YEARS but I've got the bug for some reason.
It's really "tight" if you know what I mean. The notes are clear focused. You can go passive or activate the eq. I think the mid switch is the same on all the ibbys? But so far I like the eq on with a slight bass and treb increase and a slight mid notch. (go figure, I'm like 99.9% of most people
)
No fret rattling/buzzing so far, but I don't think I've got the action quite where I want it yet.

Any experience I should know about that you would like to share?
Thanx.
