You can full screen the playlist by clicking on the full screen square situated between the minimise _ and the red X on the top right of the playlist.
You can also grab the edges and bottom/top of the playlist and 'left-click and hold' to stretch.

What a coincidence, I have a lesbian trapped in my basement. Well, locked in really. If only it would stop screaming, the neighbours are starting to ask questions.

As in all Windows apps... But, when resizing said window and closing... I expect it to reopen to that (carefully done) size... not the default "weird ass tiny size"... (I'm talking Playlist of course here...) And when you add a new instrument, logically it places them horizontally aligned across the screen. Open the "Master section"? Hmmm... aligned somewhere lower right, which has to be moved manually (I do) up next the the current channel strips, to make a nice horizontal "big ass mixer"!! After all that work... close em', and your starting over again! Maybe it's just me, but that's frustrating as hell! And a waste of time!

...my rant!

Yeah, window positions are very arbitrary. The curent beta has a right-click Insert menu but it still inserts them in that window cascade position like everything else. Still, I'd never want my playlist full screen and most of the time I have all of those windows open [mixer, master, playlist] so they stay where I put them. It was just a matter of finding a workflow that removed most of those hassles without creating more. My basic layout is as shown. I can have around 14 or 15 instruments, with 20 channels showing on my 1680x1050 monitor and I will be able to see all the instrument toolbars and all the tracks in the playlist. Over about 8 instruments I start to no longer be able to see the meters on PSP MixSaturator but that's no biggie. As long as I can see all the toolbars then any instrument's GUI, or its piano roll, is only one click away. Yes, it requires me to be super-anal about window positions but once I get things into the right spot I never have to move them again.

I solved all my window issues long ago by following three rules:

1) Always have the Mixer, Master, & Playlist open and properly sized and placed to a standard layout.

2) Always use these three windows to call-up plugins and event windows. As long as you used minimize instead of close, these plugin and event windows will be called up as you left them. This also makes every plugin a click away. I don't find it necessary to see every plugins toolbar. Everything is accessible by way of one of my three open windows.

3) Always use minimize (unless you mean delete). Get in the habit of using minimize for everything. The only time I use "x" is to close event and tempo windows that I don't need open anymore or to delete plugins.

* this will solve the problem you are having DHR53.

I'm glad to hear that I will have the option to keep it this way in the next version because it works for me. However, if Rich changed it to a way that he thought would be better, it probably would be.

This is the layout that works for me: 1152/864 dual monitor

The inserts on half your channels are two clicks away, as are all your piano rolls [which is why I keep my toolbars visible], although theyare just a double-click away via the Playlist [but a double-click is still two clicks, dammit]. My Playlist is zoomed out two or three levels beyond being able to see the buttons.

True, but the mixer is usually on top of the master.

True, a double click is two clicks.

I am missing your point here.

My sister listens to his stuff a lot. I think it is annoying. I like the music, but cannot stand the "That's riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight" or "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah" at the end of every second measure.

I just wondered why you choose to make your playlist so big, given that most people use ORION for it's mixer-centric workflow. Seems odd but with such a long, narrow workspace it kind of makes sense.

I also use ORION for it's mixer-centric workflow. I'm not sure how you got the opposite impression. The vertical size of my playlist may vary, but it is irrelevent since I just work with a plugin on top of it and than minimize that plugin when I'm done...or simply click on the playlist when I need it on top. It also leaves room for me to line up a song level event editor window if need be. In any event, this is what works for me.
