I prefer PolyAna as well, which is why I own it. (and KarmaFX for my soft-modular needs) Many of the patches in PolyAna that are hot have the saturation on. If you turn this off, it will solve a bit of this. I like the saturation however, so if I'm going to play with a lot of poly I'll just drop the levels down a bit. I don't really use the presets though, (except a couple of Coktor's patches.)zerocrossing wrote:Call me crazy, but when I first demo a synth the thing I do is peruse the presets. Sometimes I'm feeling tweaky, but a lot of times I only have an hour or so to jam so I need to get to business. Part of what I feel I'm paying for is sound design. When I'm trying to get a feel for the general personality of a synth and it's presets are peaking their own meter and distorting Live, I have to think, what the hell? Yeah, I could put a brick wall limiter after it, but usually at that point I yell "fail." and move on. Too much good competition. I had another look at Poly-ana's presets that I mentioned and I noticed that although a lot of them are super hot, they only really distort if you play a bunch of notes at one time, and generally sound really good. Frankly for that type of vintage tone my vote goes to Poly-ana.Madrayken wrote:You bothered with the presets in TimewARP? Poly-ana does this too. What's up with that? I know this isn't the pet peeve thread, but one of the sure ways to turn me off on your software is to give it presets that are all over the place in terms of volume.SWAN808 wrote:carefully modelled analogue Osc in timewARP. Heresy!
Also, Robert Smith? Not all that into him. Whiney sort. Here's some video I took while remodeling his house:

The more I play with Zebra the more I love it. I'm really glad of my purchase and at this price it was a steal.MitchK1989 wrote: Jealous. I have filterscape and uhbik but haven't found the spare cash for zebra or MFM2 yet.
Each time I launch it and start messing around and came with something new, I always tell to myself: "man, Urs is a genius!". The possibilities are endless!
