I've just picked up this plugin - it is awesome for £30! I've been playing with aether (which I love) but it's a little CPU heavy on my PC. I was using my convolution reverb for some less CPU demanding tasks and decided to give reverbrate a try - Boy I'm glad I did ;-)

Even with just one IR (and I love how it automatically pairs mono L & R IRs) this is great as there is a lot to tweak.
Cheers :)
jbraner wrote:Does anyone have any hints as to how to set up modulation and chorus to maintain "real" sounding spaces? I've looked at the Facebook page and the documentation - and I know that one of aether's "secrets" is applying a little modulation (chorus) to it's reverb....
The second IR can be useful for cropping most of the tail and modulating some of the ERs, then the really up-front element of a reverb (i.e. the ERs) can sound a little more dynamic. Other times (as tails or ERs) I like to HPF the second IR and treat it as some high-end space, then any chorus you choose to add won't muddy the low end.

Any other tips from users of course very welcome :)

Thanks for the tip(s) - that's exactly what I was looking for... ;-)

News on version 1.6 of Reverberate, a fairly big update free for existing users. Headliners:

* RTAS support
* 3x more presets
* 170MB of new true stereo IRs
* an early reflections module (supplement or replace the ERs in your IRs!)
* consolidated EQ editing
* fresher graphics
* a copy of the gain controls on the IR edit page for easier IR selection during preset selection and a stereo widener.

The price has been raised to £60 as the feature list is so much longer than when initially released, but it's free for existing users as a thank-you for all the goodwill buzz the customer base have helped to generate around the product, it's much appreciated!

For those new users that don't fancy the new price, Reverberate Core may be up their street at £30 (there is a features comparison table here). Existing users of Reverberate can also benefit from the reduced memory footprint and suitability of Reverberate Core for configuration as a higher latency workhorse reverb processor when the full flexibility of Reverberate is not needed (for instance when using third party impulse responses on delay compensated audio tracks).

Hi Matt,

thanks for the updae.
I purchased Reverberate a few weeks ago, and I'm liking it.
However, for the sake of time efficiency, I feel and important feature is missing:
every time I look for an IR, I have to point the browser to that IR for the left impulse, THEN I have to point the browser AGAIN to the folder I was just in to select the right impulse.
Couldn't Reverberate remember where I was last and open th3e browser to that location?
Time saver for sure...

Thanks

Is this when you're closing and re-opening the plug-in window that you're talking about? Otherwise I am not quite following, a few numbered steps might help, sorry if I am being slow here...

Looking forward to trying this update!!

Damn!! I'd decided to buy this but was beating around the bush and now the price has doubled on me. :-o :-o :-o I'm not complaining about the price, just cursing my laziness and stupidity. Win some,lose some.

Depending what you need, there's always Reverberate Core which I introduced for exactly this reason. I want there to still be a very efficient and high quality true stereo convolver in the market for £30. I figure there's enough new stuff over the original Reverberate feature set that it's still great value :)

That's my problem. I really want all that new stuff. :lol:

Any chance for an integrated browser in the next release? that's the one true thing stopping me from using this as my go-to.

Open Reverberate, browse for an IR that is not a factory preset, located in a different folder than the Reverberate presets.
Load the chosen IR left impulse (this is a stereo IR) in the IR1 slot, with the IR1 edit page open.
then open the Reverberate browser to look for the chosen IR's right channel , with the IR2 edit page open.
Here the browser doesn't remember where you were last and points to the last folder you were in during your previous session.
I didn't close the plug in window, just went from IR1 edit to IR2 edit pages...

I hope that I am clearer.

I'd love to see a quicker way to load stereo impulses with separate channels, in Reverberate.
Right now, it is a pain in the butt.

Also, a browser that remembers different folder locations for IRs and has then listed all in the same window, for quick selection, would be great!

Thanks

This is a great update. Its a big ol download now!!! Will the following updates just have a option of updating only the plugin?

Post

To Deca Studios: Thanks for the extra info. When you're in IR2 try clicking Favourites -> IR1a Current Location, this will take the browser to the location of the IR1a file. All that said, if you're using left and right files it sounds like you're doing true stereo - did you know that to do true stereo you would usually set both the left and right files up in IR1 by setting the topology from Parallel Stereo to True Stereo? Then it will even auto-pair the left and right files if they are called something like name_L.wav / name_R.wav. Also a feature you may not have found is the fact that you can set up favourite locations on disk in the favourites menu.

To keyman_sam: When you ask for a browser, do you mean a sample browser? If so I am a little confused, there has been a fully featured sample browser since version 1.300. If not, could you explain what you mean a little more?

To JamieSkeen: Since there are so many new IRs included it's simpler to just provide the big download, but future versions will come with updaters as has been done in the past.

Matt

I starting to feel like I need to be a Doctor in order to be able to grasp everything....

I'm starting to miss my vintage lexicon :love: (never seen one or heard one).

Can you implement an easy mode ? (it's something that has been asked for at the SOS review)

Thanks
Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

Heh, well easy mode is maybe Reverberate Core :) That's why I added the consolidated EQ view and brought the gain control onto the IR pages to simplify general use, but I take the point. It's also why I added lots more presets.
