Hey, my co-workers thought that was hilarious. Of course, I work in a library, so there's some bias there.S.HUSH wrote:Oh c'mon! It's not as bad as cheesy videos about reading!Echo Voodoo wrote:That's probably the safest thing for all concerned.S.HUSH wrote:I haven't even started on my track yet.

Hi, time for a correction.
Somewhere in the gossip somebody mentioned the Contest songs are far from commercial...
Then, how is it possible that Jerru and I appear already a few months in the top-10 of an American radio with a KvR Contest song ?
I haven't told it before to avoid Jerru stepping next to his shoes; he's having but success lately.
(it's high time to buy lottery, Jerry !
)
We aren't good ! We are from terrific to amazing and above all... humble.
Cheers,
Max... .. .

That was me I think. If your read what I wrote, I had mentioned that most entires are not "commercial".

Not only are we all mulitply awesome, but I have heard it said that Scoops can walk on water
My own awesomeness is slightly diminished because I once made a mistake.
However...
On re-checking I found that I had been right all along and my error was to think I could have been wrong. Obvioulsy I immediately wrote myself a letter appologising for such self doubt.
Now, how awesomly humble is that

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

vespers75, I believe you, even without checking and I admit I only used your incorrectly remembered remark as an excuse to show-off with being in the top-10 of a tiny, small radio station. (probably only known by family and friends of the owners, plus the people that fill up their top-10... ...and their family and friends too, of course
)
You're absolutely right in your observation, although "commercial potential" is an ample concept.
For example : Hovmod once made a song for the KvR Contest recording his new washing machine. Zanussi bought his song and uses samples of it in their publicity clips !
Now he must be rich, 'cose he travels all around the world.
From time to time he visits the island here too.
He will deny it of course and say he travels a lot as a job to repair GPS's on ships all over the world and that my story ain't true...
...but he'll also has to admit it might have been true, 'cose it was a very good recording with lots of swing and we can't help either that Zanussi ain't got a decent talent hunter !
They had to do their part of the job too, ain't it so ?
Situations like in the Zanussi-case really piss me off !!!
Cheers,

@ Max
Yes, I guess it isn't fair that you and I keep entering the contest.
That being said, I'll have a song entered later this month anyway...
(Hopefully, with an companion video). I am really, really angry!
See you soon

I can only say that every month I come here and I hear tracks that are just incredible. I have to go back and rework my tracks to try and get close to the quality of other tracks.

farlukar, so you found out where the story took a slight distance from reality...
We should check why Hovmod is flying around the world if it ain't for farlukar's washing machine in the background, behind a concert entry door.
There goes my fantasy again...
BTW, I just received a PM from Hovmod, asking on which radio he could hear his Zanussi, so I gave him the GPS coordinates.
Scoops invited me for an excursion on the water. If he can walk on water...
I think I'm gonna stay home.
See ya,

It's just a trick ta piss ya off ya see.
Not done with your typical smoke and mirrors though.
Just get a shit load of jello, fill the pool, and let it coagulate. Oh...don't forget the wide flat shoes.
The other trick is to color the jello just right to meet the condition

I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent
