If the whitenoise source can use be used as a FM modulator, I would like to have pink noise too. :wink:

Maybe you could minimize the scope to 1/4 of the size. But it never bothered me I hardly noticed it was there.

I like the scope ;) It could be smaller, but I find it useful as I used to look at it during OSC11.

Yeah, I like the scope, but I dont think it is important .. also, it is possibly the part with the greatest cpu demand for a single component.

I dont know yet whether I can use the existing white noise as an FM modulator, but I like the idea of having that option .... if I cant, then I will need to add another oscillator .... in which case, pink noise will be an option.
...if I can use the existing source for FM/PM, then pink noise may still be an option, the only drawback being added circuitry to limit the osc choice, and the possible difference in the randomiser/S+H performance.

I'll do some experiments later :)

OK, managed to add a morphable control pair to mix between the noise source and the first flexiwave to the FM/PM ( and now AM ) feed to the second flexiwave.

It should now be possible to select between pink and white noise. :)

Oooooh !! :hyper: , maybe in a year or two when I fully understand this synth, and read the manual, I'll be able to make some awesome sounds with this ! :P

hee hee ... yeah! FNS 5 will be ready before you understand FNS4? :hihi:

I dont know if it will help, but if you click on my sig and download Paddy Morphy, you will probably see where the idea started off, and therefore see FNS clearer.
... or if you regard the all the morphing options as glorified pan controls/cross faders, then it kinda makes sense.

With FNS4 I attempted to present the presets in batches, progressively introducing different morphers, and then combinations. I think I'll work on this idea in the new version ... like the presets are like a tutorial.
... know what I mean? something like ...presets 1 - 10 are a selection of sounds which demonstrate the tuning, noise, waveshaping, FM/PM/AM, filter, and amp envelope .... then 11 - 14 are simply pairs of sounds which morph nicely using the manual control, them 15 - 17 use the LFO, 18and 19 use a combination of LFO and manual. Presets 20 to 22 employ Env1, 23 and 24 employ Env2, 25 - 28 use combination of Man, LFO and envelopes, 29 - 33 use the S+H .... etc .... all the way up to a few which combine a number of morphing options working together :)

Just a few posts back , I saw the light.
Before that I was under the impression that this was a 2 OSC synth, and the manual knob was some sort of "mix" between the two, and they both had independend controls.
I had no idea it morphed from A to B.
Using this "WRONG" approach during OSC11 I often wondered WTF is wrong with this thing, but got the sound I wanted in the end.
Yesterday ( after seeing the light kinda thing ) I spend some time with it the "RIGHT" way and it was sooo much easier to get what I wanted.
So thanks again for this nice and ugly :hihi: synth.

BTW how's the skinning going ? :) :D

... Hey! I like that skin :) ... however, I'm gonna take my time with the development and at the same time, hopefully find someone to do the GUI. i have started doing a very rough panel which will look more like a schematic layout of the circuitry ...( with knobs on! :) )... than a control panel.

The idea is to present the basic workings of the synth to a potential GUI artist, whilst ommitting any artistic/design content by myself which may influence that artist's approach to the layout and panel design.

It might not be necessary, but I think it's best to be prepared should a potential GUI designer want this type of info/guidance in addition to sound samples and spec.
