I apologize Benjamin perhaps I was just agitated due to frustration. But hopefully you can help because I do love Electri6ity.
Basically I can't get Electri6ity to do several things metal enough but the biggest is palm mutes. Heres 2 examples
Electri6ity Version:
http://n9n3t33n.com/mp3/ttwe.mp3
Shreddage Version:
http://n9n3t33n.com/mp3/The%20Machine.mp3
If you listen to the verses [non-legato chord part] I just can't get that metal style palm muting. And I looked at the pictures you posted about palm muting velocity and picking style but I just cant get that chunk in there.
And in all honesty if I can I just want to use Electri6ity because of the quality alone so going between the 2 is alot of extra work and quality lossage during parts needing to be palm muting in a metal style.
I'm using the Les Paul DI Multi Anyway you'd be able to make preset so I can make the whole song sound like http://n9n3t33n.com/mp3/ttwf.mp3 with only Electri6ity?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Does anyone else find it slightly odd that with instruments such as Electri6ity, we have the tools to create perfectly in-time and in pitch music. Yet we then tweak parameters such as humanize to make it imperfect?
Maybe that's the difference... Traditional (ie analogue instrument) musicians strive for perfection, yet digital musicians strive to reach the correct level of imperfection...

That did help a lil Bill thank you but it's still not "quite" there.
Can I upload my nkm file and have someone look at it and do some editing on it? It should already be 75% there but its that last part of the sound.
I just wanna make sure its ok to upload the nkm file. Maybe we can get a good preset for metal for everyone out there.

progtronic(Rick) has some good tips on the mutes, a few pages back.
He said that Hhe struggled with getting the mutes wright when he first got
electri6ity. his mutes sound awsome now.I think he mixes ghost notes with regular mutes. Benjamin suggested making the mute levels louder than the sustains. I'm now sure where to find that peramater

Thank you Bill and Progtronic.
Thanks to Progtronic's little guide I was able to get about 85% matching. There is just a slight different in the legth and the release that I haven't gotten exactly right but you guys almost got me there.
http://n9n3t33n.com/e6/epp.mp3
Heres what I got so far. This track is the same riff over and over the first play is Electri6ity the second is Shreddage looped over and over so you can really tell the difference of what I have it at now.
Here is the basics of the technuiqe from Progtronic

As you can tell its very basic since I'm only using the mute up and down and no variations between full/half mutes, but still even that simply its starting to get the job done.
http://n9n3t33n.com/e6/lpmetal.nkm
Here is my Les Paul DI Metal Multi. Hopefully this will help others quicker and maybe someone can make it better and repost it for all of us to benefit from.
Any additional help in what I need to tweak to close in that gap between the 2 programs would be greatly appreciated!

I zipped up a couple of the Electri6ity guitars I created, along with the Guitar Rig 4 patches, and excerpt MIDI examples from each of the last couple metal remixes I did.
http://www.progtronic.com/files/files.html
the files correspond to their parent like-named files:
i.e: Lipstick Chunk.nki(Electri6ity file)/Lipstick Chunk 4.ksd(Guitar Rig 4 file)/tib_lipstick-chunk.mid(example MIDI)
the "White Knuckles", GR4 patch uses the new Rammfire amp.. so you'll need that for that patch to work correctly.
the Electri6ity guitar patches have had their key-switches completely remapped, so they should match up to their included MIDI's in that respect.
hopefully you can just load up my Electri6ity guitars into your DAW, load GR4 and the matching patch into the fx chain.. then import the matching midi file into the track lane.
never tried to put anything, example-wise, like this together before.. hope it works ok.

The Electri6ity patches work it just takes awhile for Kontakt to locate the files since their were originally saved to a cubase directory and most of the missing samples are in the later mkx files. But yeah it all loads! Gonna give me alot to work on and study.
Also the Rammfire patches are sick! Not exactly my type of distortion but great information and base to work with!
3 thumbs up!

I've been at a standstill for a while... built my new DAW and got everything installed/configured and whatnot. Loaded up my project files and bam... still crashing! Just tonight I finally figured it out and was wondering if anyone else is able to reproduce this...? I use Cakewalk Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition, but I don't think it's a Sonar issue. Here's the issue:
I created a new project file. I load up an instance of Kontakt 4 (which is track 1) and load up an Electri6ity NKI file (let's call it "custom strat 1.nki") and hard pan the track left. I create a MIDI performance on track 1. I load up a second instance of Kontakt 4 (track 2) and load up "custom strat 1.nki", hard pan it right and copy the MIDI performance from track 1 to track 2. I apply different signal chains to each track using Guitar Rig 4. I loop it and let it play back. Eventually Sonar crashes with exception 0xc0000005 (Exception Access Violation). One thing I noticed is when I loaded up the second instance of Kontakt 4 and loaded the same NKI file, it did not reload it, instead since it was already loaded in memory it is referring to the samples loaded in memory already. This may be where the issue lies... although it really should not be an issue, since it wouldn't make sense. Each instance is just reading sample data in memory. I wouldn't think any locking would be going on, but maybe so?
I have not been able to reproduce the issue with two different Electri6ity NKI files loaded in memory. This sounds like a bug in Kontakt 4 to me...
EDIT:
Ok, I just reproduced it with two different Electri6ity NKI files loaded. It took almost an hour before it crashed. If I only ever load one Electri6ity instrument, it will never crash. I let it loop for 10 hours while I was at work today with playing only one Electri6ity instrument and it was still playing when I got home. Weird... two different machines exhibiting the same behavior and it's only with Electri6ity's instruments. I have never crashed before using Electri6ity. I still think it's some kind of bug with Kontakt 4 so I'm opening a case with Native Instruments. I have already been working with Cakewalk support and I have not gotten anywhere.

dreambliss,
Are You using 32 or 64 bit kontakt?
Remember; You can load 2 nki's in one instance ,go to humanize menu,
choose ,use gtr 2 and set gtr2 to another stereo output. You get exellent
results with this method. It may be a good workarround for you.

I use 64-bit Kontakt. I've tried that in the past and still had crash issues. Although I haven't tried it on my new DAW yet. I logged a case with Native Instruments. Hopefully I'll get it resolved soon. I may do what you suggested on my new DAW to see what the results are, just to test...

Thank you Bill for reminding me to try that. I just ran a loop for several hours and no crashing! I think the problem lies with multiple instances of Kontakt 4 sharing the same sample data in memory. I believe my old DAW must have had other issues that were contributing to the crashes. This new DAW is rockin' away now!

How much ram do You have?
What kind of processor?
Are You on the latest kontakt update?
Are your dlls in the right folders?
When I installed komplete, The dlls where in the wrong folder,
so my updates where not installing correctly. You should be able to run
multiple instances on a modern computer.

I can run multiple instances of Kontakt. I just can't run multiple instances of Kontakt with Electri6ity. I let the single instance of Kontakt run overnight with two Electri6ity guitars looped and it did not crash. This just confirms what the cause of the crash is. I still think there must be some kind of bug in Kontakt 4 with how it handles instruments that consume large amounts of memory. I am still waiting to hear back from NI support.
I like running multiple instances because I am able to freeze each guitar separately. Now I'll have to have all of the rhythm and lead guitars lumped together in a single instance and freeze/unfreeze them all together, or I work with a single instance at a time, then freeze it and work on the next.
