Sascha, will there be new models coming soon? For amps, stomps, cabs, etc... ? :)

I'm interested in Vandal and Overloud TH1, as they eat the 1/5th CPU of Amplitube Fender's and especially the Metal's hunger. They look somehow more versatile and so on, but I don't want my sound bitten to death cause I added a stomp. Guitar Rig is a no-go in this case too, even tho I love the clean sound of it.
Vandal and TH1 sound OK, and they are on the right track; one of them will surely get my money :P

Oh, I got plenty of sketches for new stomps on my desk ;)

And since we have the concept of 'a single custom amp', I already considered making 'instant amp' stomp boxes, such as a brit stomp, a california stomp, whatever. Nebulous future plans, though. These need to mature.

I will possibly add a few items to the cab section over time. The mic delay, while being such a tiny feature, turned out as a giant leap onward recently in terms of tonal possibilities. More mics and enclosures should also be possible.

I got a couple of things to do in the rack fx section, too. A pitch shifter, a noise reduction, reverse reverb and what not.

OK... late to the party again but I tested the VANDAL demo and tried it in my current project. I spent hours trying to get the right guitar/amp/cab/effects chain for literally days using AT3 and Cab IRs....

I inserted VANDAL into a new track, routed by guitar audio and started playing around and within 5 minutes, had the sound I wanted and it sounded GREAT... the "feel" and "sound" of this product is the best amp sim I have ever used (I have pretty much all of them) but this could be the "newness" factor.

So, I purchased this bad boy and it is part of my arsensal. A couple of questions though:

Is this a 64 bit PLUGIN? If not, appears that when I try and insert a 2nd instance of VANDAL into my project, my DAW stops responding. I am using SONAR 8.5.3 x64 under WIN 7. If this is a 32 bit plug, are there any special setting for x64 jbridge that need to be set?

Other than this little hiccup, I think VANDAL might just become part of my GOTO arsenal.

On OSX, it's 32 & 64 bits. The PC version is 32bit. At the moment. I plan to move the whole development system and all code (including older plugins) to 64bit later this year. It takes a bit of time, since there's a lot I need to adapt at places apart from code. But it's a necessary step, for sure.

About jbridge: Since I'm not using Win7/64 at the moment, I can't tell. Our test department had actually tested Vandal under 64bit Vista & Win7, and I've gotten no such feedback. But I can re-ask about Sonar. They need to re-test anyway for the upcoming update.

Is Vandal amp addressed only for rock/metal players?
I am asking because the topic of this thread made me curious about this plugin so I visited the vandal website.
What I saw was satanic GUI and steve vai like solos and metal riffs.
This is not what I like :(
So in fact these facts made me not even download the demo.
I need a good sim for other genres: jazz, blues, reggae, funk, afrobeat and others.
Do you think vandal is good for these too?
I would like to ask if there will be others more funky and less satanic skins for that?
Please put some non-rock/metal sound examples on the site !!

cheers

Definetly not. It's just that our most active beta tester Dimi is into melodic metal, and we got so much material from him :)

Hey Sascha!
Just made these sketches for fun! I hope you like them!
Took me half-day to build up a scheme. As I don't have a legit license of Vandal, I used pictures available on KvR.
They are available in layered PSD format if you decide to use them; so you can separately edit the plate, knobs, and so on.
With the separate layers, they can be easily converted for use in Vandal :P
Also, if you give me some guide, I think I can completely skin any stomp.
PM Me if you'd like to have some special request and I'll try my best to do them!

About:
The Anarchist is a massive metal distortion
The Valkyrie is a feedback one
And the Bulldog is your British canine ;)

PS.: The knobs are a lil' messy but those can be easily replaced.

Cheers!

I'm lovin' it for jazz, fusion, and even some acoustic stuff.

Wow, thanks for the effort :)
Actually, I need to stick with my current UI designer, but I pass it on to him. I also had the idea with the union jack...

You mean, Anarchist like the Sex Pistol cover by Megadeth? ;)

Too bad Bulldog is already taken for amps as well as speakers. The naming is really a hard part. As a company, you have to do do a lot of research in order to be on the safe side.

You wrote you'll make a pitch shifter; and I officially mock you cause you declined me hmpf :D

Fun? Nobody has fun here. It's hard work, hard-earned money. Getting this all to work is more exhausting than working in a coal mine.

You know what, I had to bake a Hello-Kitty cake 2 weeks ago, when my daughter became 5. We got Kitty all over our flat, it hurts. But at least we could keep our place Disney-free so far :)
