Thanks - no more freezing. Unfortunately whatever you did to fix this in Tracktion has broken the resolution knob, the dotted line no longer snaps to the curve when you increase the resolution in Tracktion 5.
I don't think the two are related. Do you by any chance have the Colour Gain turned all the way down to 0?
Nope - and it's working fine in Studio One with the same settings.
OK just checked, I have the same problem. I guess I really did messed something up the last time. I probably changed what caused a problem in places where it didn't cause a problem. I suck at working with code I didn't make myself.

Nevermind, the problem is much older and isn't as much of a problem as it might seem (even though it's pretty confusing), the problem occurs when there's no sound playing, Tracktion doesn't call SplineEQ's sound processing function (which is normal), which means it doesn't update the EQ. You'd think that would be the same problem with changing individual bands and you'd be right, I worked around that by having the function that draws the interface pick up the slack when the processing function isn't running, however I forgot to make it also do that not only when the EQ curve itself is modified but also when parameters that require it to be redone are changed. I'll change it as well as the aforementioned 0 colour gain thing, it's confusing when either of those things make the curve not move as you'd expect.

aMUSEd can you confirm that it only occurs when there's no sound going through the plugin?

Yes that seems to be the case, in Tracktion, in S1 and other hosts it works regardless of whether sound is going through or not though.

I'm not sure but I think it depends on hosts, some hosts stop processing when there's nothing happening to save CPU and others seem to keep it on running anyway, probably to avoid any problems. I seem to recall that Renoise would suspend processing by default when detecting silence, but you could override it.

Either way I'm gonna fix that, it's one of those things that's not really a problem if you understand what's happening, but if you don't it can be very perplexing.

Anyway, there's a whole bunch of reviews here: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/splinee ... er/reviews (also this http://www.musicradar.com//reviews/tech/splineeq-547726 ) but you know how enthusiastic reviewers tend to be.
Demo'd it again and bought.
I'll install it next week on my birthday
