Everyone is so obsessed with Tyrell's skin... :)

Something else bothers me :

There are a lot of good presets in Tyrell.
Thare are a lot of presets that are not (for me)

Can there be some "favorite" mechanism, to store one's favorite presets ?

Thanks
Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

Click on 'Patch' and then in the patch browser, right click and you will see 'mark favourite' and 'mark as junk' and the 'show junk' is there in case you need to see the junk again. Favorites will get a gold star, junk will be invisible unless you choose to see it. Also, you can create a directory with your favorite patches and just save off copies there, I usually tweak everything a little anyhow so save my variations there.

Especially with the old presets that don't have chorus enabled, you probably want to tweak and save them anyhow. Just save to your own favorites folder.

Hey! I'm not fat....I'm just big boned....(in more ways than one)...... :hihi:

We now return you to Double Entendre Theater..........

Anyway now that I've got Tyrell's skin dialed in just the way I like it I can concentrate on some patches. I'll try to release some in the not too distant future (most likely setting myself up for some motivation squashing...probably be like throwing a hunk of raw meat into a pool of Piranhas but......I fear nothing....) :P

You have a special version then??

Otherwise you might want to look at a Stereo VU and notice how the levels on left and right channel are always consistent with one another.

The only thing stereo about it is the new chorus.

Urs, could the chorus please find it's way into Ace also? Please don't laugh if it's already is

How do you make a default patch? So it's always there when you open up the synth?

I understand you're all busy making skins so that's why there's been no post for the last four hours. But, if you have time to read this, could you consider making a skin for Ace? Maybe ENV1 could make one using that silvery theme? There is one silvery/metal for ACE but the knob animation isn't dead center at .. dead center.. It points slightly to the left :(
If one were to make an "inspired" skin, which ones would be best? Ms20? Moog modular? How about that blue synth ...I think it's semi modular. .. Ah, ARP http://www.vintagesynth.com/arp/arp.php .. looks less than inspiring for a GUI though.

I have, with my clownish skills, been working just a little on making the original skin look like Andromeda. Amazing what Gimp can do! It managed to select just the background so i could add some kind of sparkle and then tint it blue.

Mono to me means even if you press 3 notes, only one sounds. That's why I asked about voicing. I think the oscillators are stacked, like the old Junos. So, the 'voices' selection isn't polyphony, it's doubling of oscillators. So we could very well both be right.
PS: I'm running in VSTHost and it doesn't have a VU meter AFAIK

Well, it is up to 8 voices polyphonic, and the oscillators can be stacked in unison 'mono' but the oscillators are sending a mono signal.

Is it two channel mono?

Well, I don't know much about this really but I am assuming it is a mono signal from the synth that gets split in two sometime before hitting the mixer, and now I guess it probably is mono before hitting the chorus. If you look at the VU meter with the chorus off it is the same in both channels, with chorus on it is 'true' stereo, but only because of the chorus effect.

Tyrell sure can chew up my CPU!

Tyrell is definitely 2 channel, it even has a fully working Pan section including PanMod via all available sources. :)

And this is by far not all. In fact there are tons of working unused features in Tyrell. For example all 8 voices can be detuned individually. The Fall-Rise range can be specified, PortaRange can be specified, GlideMode can be specified (Time or Rate), theres a LevelMod, possibility to set Headroom, HPResonance, HP_fc, (which allows for pretty cool filter behaviour not possible before), the Envelopes have options for SnappyMode, ConstantRate and even a RateMod Source, and so on and so forth. Theres even a pretty wicked patch-randomizer included which creates pretty cool FX with the click of a button. 8)

The only problem is; while all of these unused 'extras' technically work (except for a few that dont seem to do anything or just arent connected to anything) their params are not being saved into the presets. For this to be possible Urs would have to update the DLL and (i guess) make these options part of their respective modules, since only params of features that are part of a module seem to be considered when saving. Maybe if we ask nicely? Since im going to make a new skin from scratch anyway i would be willing to include all the now unused features and create the first Tyrell - Extended Edition. (lol)

As for the skin; i have put aside a copy of the old silver one. Im currently in the process of laying everything out from scratch, (im really starting at zero here), making new buttons, etc., and once im done with that i will upload the entire package including both old and new. I dont know how long this will take since i have only limited time for these kinds of activities, but i will keep you all posted and show you the progress as i proceed...

I have a feeling this will be Diva redux and we'll all get to play for free, then Urs will connect everything and your beta will expire and ..... :D

You're speaking of polyphony, I'm speaking of output channels.
