Anybody know when the release is pushed back to? I'd be super bummed out if I'd already paid for this thing. Also when the hell will there be a list of the stock modules?

This is just plain bad business. You don't announce a release date unless you are absolutely sure, at least for the most part, that the product is mostly bug free. I refuse to believe that this "problem" just popped up last minute to have to cancel release a day before. This will ultimately hurt sales down the road depending on how long it takes for this to come out.

Where have you been living wag? Many top developers play loose with their deadlines... I doubt it will hurt their business. And I doubt they did it on purpose.wagtunes wrote:This is just plain bad business. An idiot on Set Theory:

Since I have been purchasing VSTs, this is the first announced release date that has been postponed. Please show me a major VST released in the last 2 years where this has happened. In doing so, please cite the page where announcement was made that release would be postponed. And if there were any (highly doubtful) they weren't done one day before release.Robmobius wrote:Where have you been living wag? Many top developers play loose with their deadlines... I'll wait.

No, I'm far too lazy for that... But there's definitely been delays, and I couldn't give a toss if you don't believe me.wagtunes wrote: Since I have been purchasing VSTs, this is the first announced release date that has been postponed. Please cite the proof of 'softube's problem' that you mention - if it's not technical then? Or are you just making shit up as you go along just to troll.
Well.. it is rather odd to announce it a day before the deadline (and not to have another release date). It will be interesting to see how long it takes. I'm kind of glad I didn't preorder it now.

I'm not saying there isn't a technical problem with the synth. I have no doubt that there's something majorly wrong with it. I just can't believe that they didn't discover this until one day before release.Robmobius wrote:No, I'm far too lazy for that... Anyway, I'm not getting into a knock down drag out over this because it's not worth any more time than I've already spent on it.
** EDIT ** Last thing I'm saying on this. You have people who preordered this. If you don't think that they're not pissed that they now have to wait and won't ultimately ask for a refund if September comes and there's still no product, you're being naive. I wouldn't wait. There is no question this will cost them sales the longer this goes on. And with that, I'm done. Say whatever you want. I won't be responding any further since you're on my ignore list anyway.

Could have discovered it for sometime before release but thought they could fix it in time since the last minute?I'm not saying there isn't a technical problem with the synth. You're just stating the obvious, why?wagtunes wrote: ** EDIT ** Last thing I'm saying on this. You have people who preordered this. Of course people are pissed... It's happened to me with other products, so I know the feeling. But they won't shut down softube by any means.
Why are you evening mentioning September? That's a month you've just pulled out of your arse, and has no basis in fact. So unless you back back that date, up you're argument is moot (as per usual).
I think 'facts' are just something that other KVR users seem to understand. You must be a young Earth creationist or something.
I'm glad you won't respond to this, because it will be just more nonsense.... But you do like a little troll now and then.
I'm glad that I'm on your 'ignore list' too, it's obviously working well for you.
With love Rob. XXX

You obviously have no clue about software development if that's what you believe.wagtunes wrote:This is just plain bad business. And no, this won't ultimately hurt their sales. Maybe you won't buy it out of principal, but one sale is not going to impact their sales numbers.
These things actually do happen, and happen quite frequently in software development. (I've been doing it for over twenty years) Sometimes you're still able to fix the bug in time, sometimes the fix impacts so much of the system that one isn't confident enough in the release being stable that a delay is the best course of action.
EL's Distressor plugin was delayed, (it's claimed to be due to copyright protection issues, however they till had a prolonged beta and still have a list of bugs now that the demo is out) SKNote's pretty much everything has been delayed, Soundtoys v5 was delayed a long time - and many people pre-ordered it, (seems to be doing just fine sales wise as well) most everything Slate doesn't meet dates, Cytomic's The Drop latest release is behind schedule due to illness of Andy's wife, I'm sure I could go on and on. Oh yeah, there's also a company called Microsoft that can never seem to hit their target release dates. You're more than free to google any of these software items to see for yourself.

Yup, not the first time a release was postponed.
There is probably a very good reason why it was delayed.
Nothing is worse than rolling out a product, only to have users upset about some potentially critical bug that prevents using it the way it is intended.
Seems like a very responsible decision IMO.
