Ah, always such joy to witness the ever recurring concerns about all such things. If anything, it means that the OSC itself is growing, because new member ask to be informed and returning members reassure the lot of us, that their wisdom has only grown. :)

I wonder, if it's only me who actual hears the spoken words for those lovely acronyms... :ud: ...anyway, I'm having some slow days. The heat is kind of getting to me and I somehow don't sleep enough. But once I've got my brains back, I'll resume finishing up the next update and all that... gotta get me a decent headset or improvise with the funny pink one my wife still had, hahahaha...what a pro I am.

I figured, since we're just chatting away here, I might as well mention LotS related progress. :phew:

Haha, good luck!

Well, if there's anything I was missing in LotS it was for flexible modulation. More envelope options, more targets. Envelopes, with velocity control, are pretty crucial in making a synth feel expressive when played. With the modeled nature of the synth I suppose all parameters might not be suitable to modulate however and CPU cycles may be of concern as well...

EDIT:
By the way, I updated to latest version and it's not quite compatible with my track :P I think it was only the noise shaper that messed with things, though, so it's salvageable.

Post

Oh, from which version came that translation? Because I did have it recognize earlier versions and do proper conversion to get the new noise filter to be similar enough to the old noise as a starting point.

Yes, I know, more complex midi controller implementation along with modulation targets, all this I am considering strongly. In the coming update I've done a minor architecture switch (don't worry, it won't affect the presets!), but it prepared me for new features to come. I will see how much I still put into V2, but there's a very good chance I will begin to work on a V3 in a short while. 8)

I'm not sure which version I had before... I think I downloaded it around June 5th. I had tried to use the frequency controls on spring 2, but they were not hooked up in that version.

Post

Anyway, you've got things under control now, that's the most important thing! :tu:
...I have been- and still am- happy I've got version numbers with the presets, which help to keep things compatible, even when stuff gets wilder. Since it's in the chunk data, even fxp should have those, except that I have the conversion ONLY in the LOAD FILE routine, hahaha....duh! I should have put it into the "SetProgram" function, though. Then you would've immediately gotten proper conversions. If anybody else has such troubles, let me know and I'll change that, but if we're all on the current version, I wouldn't want to bother, I think.

Wow, that's some useful info, though. Not sure why that didn't cross my mind!? :dog:
Thanks, mehum! :tu:

Uuuuh, the freaking awesomeness! No idea what divine inspiration came over me, but suddenly I thought about "FOCUS" matters again. In LotS I tried to do at least some sort of autofocus in order to make it easier to send keyboard shortcuts back to the host, but it only created very distracting focus jumps. Suddenly I was wondering: Can't I just SEND messages to windows, rather than just receiving them!?
I took quick look and immediately found it, hooked it into my windows message dealings and VOILA! The new version will allow you to play/stop with space on hosts, even while LotS is in focus! :hyper: 8)
This shouldn't sound like anything special, but check with countless free synths and even some of the commercial ones, and you may find that this is not necessarily the norm! ;)
:phew:

Next update will get good! :wheee:

LotS has a great potential and many of the guys have perfectly demonstrated its capabilities.
Thanks, Taron! I will definitely use LotS when I look for new sounds ...and thanks to all for comments on soundcloud!
