I don't like or dislike marketing. I don't like disingenuous (this is what a circumspect remark looks like).
I am however immune to this kind of thing, all it does is put me off. You don't need it, do you? Probably not even your idea to do it. But not everybody is your cheerleader, this is a more or less open forum where people might call bullshit out.

NB: your edit on the first post changed 'the leader in analog modeling' but the first reply retains the original wording. Unless you want to accuse someone of editing the rest which do, original post changed the wording.

With all of the rampant marketing,we could be forgiven for confusing "The Greatest Hits" with "The Greatest Shit"...

It is quite similar...but not quite the same

You have to be fairly robust to survive our healthy cynicism here on KVR...

If all you have to offer is BS,you'll be brought down to size in no time at all

Either way, I think it is pretty clear to those that know what it is as it has been expressed elsewhere that people completely understand what we mean.

I get it, [edit] some don't like IK's marketing. But the context of what kind of paradigm shift is happening for IK should be pretty clear to those who know what this product is.

And we will reveal an interesting product that is a paradigm shift for us, at Superbooth 2018 as planned. There's certainly a lot of media interest in it (but we kind of knew that would be the case since we showed it privately at a previous trade show).
What a crap post.
And always the victim.

Indeed. And we get what you you thought you were saying Peter, we're just correcting you. It isn't a paradigm shift of anything, not even at IK. You are abusing the phrase as marketing types often do. This was even pointed out to you in the first part of this thread. You don't get to reject Wikipedia because it doesn't align with your ignorance.

Moreover, since your new product has nothing to do with analog modeling, it's even more irritating that you feel the need to spam us with your unsupported claims of being the leader. I think that it's fair to say by now that few, if any, members here would bestow that title on IK.

Absolutely...

Peter comes on here with his marketing spiel and ends up in the pillory

We're a pretty unforgiving bunch of rascals around here

Thank you for the marketing suggestion, I've passed it to the team.

To answer another post, been here a long time haven't been brought down to anything but get chased by a few admirers as expected. No biggie, the message also gets to who appreciates it.

If only they’d merely mentioned they were releasing something new the feedback would have been entirely different.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Yes... meek + marketing = success. :)

We'll whisper from the corner next time. That'll work very well.

But I'll continue to post about the upcoming product via the countdown. I think I get the point that some don't like certain marketing. And it really has been noted that was not snarky or insincere.

It could be worse, it could be like Slate Digital :D

Well thanks for jinxing it... now this will end up being delivered WAY late!

Seriously, though, that's another thing I had mentioned we need to do our best to do well - get this out when we say it will be out. I know this type of product can be hard in that way, but it isn't something being taken lightly.

Also seriously I mean no slight against who you mentioned with my quip above - totally lighthearted as I believe there have been massive improvements in things happening on a reasonable timeline there, enough that I could also be projecting a touch but won't admit it! oops... ;)

As though there are two extremes with nothing in the middle. Just don't bullshit, it's not necessary.
Everyone read 'Get ready for a paradigm shift from the leader in analog modeling technology' as something radical is supposed to happen. Insulting our intelligence (essentially 'You're stupid not to get we mean shifting a paradigm that is just us' when we actually did get it.) just because some - quite a few it seems - called you on it isn't the cool look you seem to want to play.

"No biggie, the message also gets to who appreciates it." What message? I got a message when you edited the OP. I was clear, I like IKMM stuff I have. I'm not even remotely interested in a little mono 'paraphonic' synth so you haven't gained or lost a thing with me, I'm just a person on the forum with an opinion you want to characterize as wrong.

Ontopic: so it is a synth..hmmm..
The one on the right actually designed the microcontroller board (Teensy) at the heart of that synth. Other ones (and zeroes I am sure) built a zillion projects (Burning Man etc) using that board -- a gen-u-wine paradigm shift!

This whole fiasco was predictable from the first post. It's not just a complete misread of the KVR community, it's a lack of respect for it. My eyes are still rolling like a pair o' dimes.

But hey, free advertising.
