Except it didn't go down quite like that. Everyone was given six months in which they were able to backup and/or sell their licenses. The scarcity that this created meant that many who sold were able to make a profit. Furthermore, of those that kept it, I don't recall a single person saying their copies have stopped working since then either.goldenanalog wrote: Sat Feb 09, 2019 10:01 am Think it through: One day CA supports Alchemy and the user base; the next day it doesn't. So: any person who had bought Alchemy and all of its libraries (1) day before the lockdown was f*cked; along with everyone else who had spent $$$ on Alchemy and depended on CA's support.Tens of thousands of dollars are spent on Alchemy in good faith; by hundreds of people - and the company disappears.
As much as i dislike their decision to sell to Apple, the shutdown was handled quite well really. It was a shame however that they were unable to talk publically about it, Ben had always been quite active within the community so i don't doubt he regrets having to go quiet in that way.
