Hello,
I previously downloaded version 3.1 of Saurus, but unfortunately the display is incorrect. See photos.

Sorry I am trying to figure out what is incorrect (?).
I just updated and don't see any issues on my PC in standalone or in the DAW.

No, the red line covers my data. The fact is that the VST3 version only shows a section of the synth. The standalone version looks fine, by the way. I work with Cubase 9.5.Examigan wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 10:17 pm Sorry I am trying to figure out what is incorrect (?).
Is it about that red line in the top image? I was curiuous as it's not in the bottom image.
I just updated and don't see any issues here.

I just installed the latest VST3 version and I can still see the full display OK in Cakewalk and in standalone. Maybe its your DAW? Cubase is up to version 12 now.

I know, but I still have Windows 7 and this Cubase version is the last one to run with it. By the way, all other vst3 applications don't cause any problems.Examigan wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 10:44 pm I just installed the latest VST3 version and I can still see the full display OK in Cakewalk and in standalone. Ok, well Windows 7 isn't supported/updated anymore and I guess Cubase 9.5 isn't either.
You can always contact Tone2's support.

I think Icarus 2 doesn't have the "config" like in Saurus. Saurus has the ability to sound more analogish by drifting and saturating the sound (more like in Analog synths). It is also easier and more direct to use than Icarus.kNarf_ wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 8:54 am Is there - soundwise - anything Saurus does that Icarus can't do? Just wondering, since I already have Icarus.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

This is what the Icarus manual states about the analog oscillators from that synth:EnGee wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:33 amI think Icarus 2 doesn't have the "config" like in Saurus. Analog - The oscillator sounds like an analog one. It has a muffled sound and suffers from drift and saturation. MORPH controls the amount of distortion.
So it just easier to use and has different presets then?

Try the demo. I think they sound slightly different. All the Tone2 synths have a certain sounds, but, I found Saurus to be the one with the "thickest" sound, if that's your thing.

I've tried the Saurus demo, and I really liked it! Especially the pad presets. But then I fired up Icarus again, and its analog pad presets sounded just as good to mechk071 wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:30 am Try the demo. I think they sound slightly different. So although Saurus is relatively cheap, I can't really seem to justify purchasing it to myself, given the big overlap with Icarus in terms of sonic possibilities...

Sounds like a decision then.kNarf_ wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:45 amI've tried the Saurus demo, and I really liked it! Especially the pad presets. Saurus has several degrees or kinds of drifting and saturation. It is easier because it is more focused on analog/subtractive kind of synth while Icarus is a wavetable more complex synth!kNarf_ wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:20 amThis is what the Icarus manual states about the analog oscillators from that synth:EnGee wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 9:33 amI think Icarus 2 doesn't have the "config" like in Saurus. If you believe you don't need Saurus or it is redundant when you have Icarus, then skip Saurus!

At this price it's almost worth it just for all the presets it has.
