I really like the Model 82 and was pretty excited when I saw it released. I can't vouch for how close it is to original as I never had the hardware synth, it sounds pretty close to what I expected though, from listening to recorded music, and sounds great anyway

The reason will probably be that there are no results for a comparison between Sofutube Model 82 and the Roland Cloud SH-101, while there are multiple results for Softube Model 82 vs. SH-101.

Youtube's search is very good actually.

Anyone else gets a different sound, when opening an ableton live set before last update of model 82?
On Ableton beta the sound keeps the same but on ableton 11.2.6 if you open Model 82 and select a preset and save the set, after opening there is a different sound.
If i load only a track from a set, the original sound keeps the same, so something strange with Ableton. It's only with VST3 - on VST2 i can't reproduce this mess

I wonder if i could approximate the SH-101 sound with synths i already have and aren't a dedicated emulation. How about DIVA, Zebra, Reaktor, Massive X or even Model 84? Has anyone tried that route?

I'm just looking for excuses not to buy every single emulation released.

I tried to recreate SH-101 sounds with Diva. I got really close, BUT it is very hard to find the sweet spot in Diva, whereas with the SH it is EASY to find sweet spots. So I was able to do it, but not worth the effort. Strobe2 is a better alternative than Diva imo for SH sounds. You can also sample the SH if your just play without automating knobs.
