So if someone didn't upgrade for $29 what makes D16 think they'll upgrade for $49?

Maybe it'll remind them not to wait next time? At least that's how I'm feeling, now realizing that there was probably a better LuSH upgrade available when it was first released.

Or piss them off so they never upgrade.
I passed on the upgrade at $29 because I'm not that big of a fan of the 909. I bought the earlier version many years ago based mostly on the high quality GUI which sadly shrank over time as monitor resolutions grew. The new version suffers from the same fuzziness as LuSH101 2 which I find unappealing.
I will however almost certainly upgrade when (if) Nepheton is ever upgraded because I do still love the 808 sound. Even if its GUI is equally fuzzy....

I wonder if they will ever combine 303/101/808/909 into a rack with a sequencer- a 2023 version of Re-Birth!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Good point (eg I haven't upgraded Lush).

- I appreciate devs rewarding loyalty by offering an upgrade path to a vastly improved and expanded product.
- I appreciate devs offering intro [upgrade] prices for early birds (it's good for devs and customers).
- I feel bad when I miss out on such deals, cause I blame myself for that.
But I wait for sales (or secondhand, in the case of hardware) anyway, almost all of the time, cause I have a small income.
D16 seems very customer friendly to me (e.g. they went out of their way to help out people who didn't take advantage of inactivated licenses, in this thread).
All that makes me feel good about supporting them.

Sure, it's totally fine. 100% my own fault for missing the upgrade offer. BUT, they probably lose sales by not providing better upgrade offers after the initial release. If someone missed the $29 Drumazon 2 upgrade, they probably wouldn't feel too bad about paying $39 later. $59 is a different story.
