I must say that Dune 3 sounds not only very good (as many others these days) but even if I am not a big EDM fan (anymore) the presets are really good for all kinds of genres and what is more important belongs to the most expressive ones in terms of playability since almost all presets come with good support using not only modwheel but also velocity, breath, expression, and foot etc.
So from all the non MPE tools I find it has the most useful presets to start with.If you start to use these modulation sources, most presets really have much live and moving sounds.
The preset browser is not great but I can live with it.
The only thing I really miss is (yeah, I said that already too often but will repeat it once more...) microtonal tuning support so that it would work better together with some of my favourite other tools.
But yes, Dune 3 is awesome and it is always in my Top 5.

Btw, with the addition of the sample slot, Dune 3 is 8 times superior to Serum (semi-joke, LOL). It looks like ANA 2 provides a bit more convenience as it provides some initial sample library with installation (while having 3/8 power of Dune, LOL).
For Dune, what's suitable sample library to be used right away? Is it Zampler?

Yes there is a ton of free content for Zampler some of which is found here:
https://www.zampler.de/
Just look for samples in that content that are at C3 or 4 sometimes C2 or if you're looking for intervals load those samples.

Scroll down a little bit and on the right hand side you'll see 9 free libraries about 4 gigs of samples.

Zampler is free too.

But the point is you can use the samples created for Zampler in DUNE 3's new sample Osc.

No I wish. I've been begging for that for years. It can load single samples in Osc 3 now.wagtunes wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:44 pmNow THAT is cool. So Dune 3 reads sfz files?Teksonik wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:22 pm Zampler is free too.

You can't use the Zampler .sfz files but you can use the individual samples.
The 3.4 update also: "introduces a VST3 version, the ability to load WAV files, a new, high-quality comb filter with keytracking, a new skin, and additional patches for the factory library". (and new Screamer Distortion FX)

Yes that's a known condition. I don't think it will change but don't quote me on that.zyguli wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:53 pm I have noticed an inconsistency. Whilst spread parameter affects the sample osc, detune does not, when multiple voices are used.

well, he already had the code, it's a simple copy and paste. the global lock is the hard part. i was just wondering if it would be easier on dune 2 because i can live with that if it is.
out of curiosity how far you guys planning to trash this? i need to know which instruments i can count on.
