@dandezebra : check if your library is authorized. Rapid licence.
It happened to me some months ago after an update, Rene wrote me to authorized it again and after all was working.
If it doesn't work, mail the Parawave support, they will help you for sure!

Cool, isn't he planning to make a Rapid preset pack by chance? I'd buy it in a heartbeat, he is really very good.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

I assume this synth is not the first choice for ambient music, or am I wrong?

What gives the impression? Check out the Pad presets in the demo for example. Or just increase volume/filter attack and release, add a bit of reverb (new space type) to get a sense of what's possible with longer drone sounds.Calenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:07 pm I assume this synth is not the first choice for ambient music, or am I wrong?
Pro Tip: Go into the oscillator browser. Create a user library. Drag-in a random vocal sample from one of your sounds. Choose Resynthesis and see what happens. It's a feature most people will overlook at first glance, but especially suited for ambiances if you combine it with reverb, long envelopes and soft filtering.

Resynthesis is pure magic for Ambient stuff. No strange granular artefacts. Just pure softness. Best think is to import 2-3 different samples (not only vocals, just try everything. You will get the pure smoothness with the structure of the imported sound) and fade with LFOs between it. This makes a lot of fun. I made something similar in the "Supernova XT". Check this out.Calenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 7:07 pm I assume this synth is not the first choice for ambient music, or am I wrong?

Is Rapid better than Logic Pro Alchemy?
What you're thinking?

I am developer and also part of the company "Parawave" and it isn't fair if I say "yes", but... yes! xDCalenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:22 pmI see.Mirko R. wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:12 pmYes. Just kidding. I think it's a personal taste what you more like but Alchemy is a bit out of time IMHO. But if you can work with it well, so why not?

Was not aware of the import option before tbh, that is fantastic. Between that and the new stuff in 1.7 I'm all set for awhile with this synth. Rapid is really strongly established now in my starting rotation.

As a Falcon user, these big synths (Omnisphere, Alchemy) defintely have their place as complementary to the "bread & butter" ones. Also, no synth is perfect, better use a handful of instruments (not too many though) for their best ability (whatever "best part" means in your specific personal use) and avoid using just one synth for all sounds in a song, as this tends to make the final song sound too - I don't know - polite.Calenberger wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 8:22 pm Is Rapid better than Logic Pro Alchemy?
