NI Blocks Wired
Micro Prism
Zampler RX (and only one soundset?)
I looked these up and here's my take:
NI Blocks wired: Requires reaktor. This may make it too exclusive
Micro Prism: Too simplistic. Seems like a preset player
Zampler RX: This looks like a sampler.
Reaktor Player is free. So it isn't a big requirement.
Tablewarp2 by Plogue
JUCEOPLVSti
Brainstormer by Roazhon DSP
The Qyooo by Full Bucket Music
Lord of the springs by Taron
Kamioooka by g200k

Some of the synths which i suggest.

Reaktor Player is free Win/Mac software!

You're probably right about Micro Prism, the parameters are not visible on the GUI.

Zampler RX is technically a synth (Synapse Audio Dune 1) with sfz-based oscillator, and that seems to be how people use it- most if not all soundsets are sampled synths. But well, guess this reduces the sound design aspect a bit and emphasises songmaking. It's a high quality freebie though.

What about Sonigen Modular? :phones:

Zampler is not technically a synth, it's a sampler that can load sfz sound libraries.
It's based on Dune1 which has been stripped down to work as a sampler.
sfz-based oscillator

Sorry, but this is definitely the most stupid thing I ever read on KVR so far...
A sfz-based oscillator would be a text editor, because sfz is nothing but a text file,
you do realize that sfz is a text file?
The worst part is that Zampler doesn't even have any oscillator because it's a SAMPLER, samplers don't have oscillators...when you find me oscillator in Zampler, give me a call.

People use it to load sfz sound libraries, just like you would use Sforzando.

Just tried to download this synth. I used the link from the KVR-site (http://www.taron.de/Storage/vst/webpage.htm). But it failed.
My Firefox started the download, but did never finish. Tells me, that the final size is unknown.
Tried with Chrome on another PC and it tells me that there is a network problem with this link.
Any ideas? :help:

Works fine for me, The size is 288kb. I use Firefox.

That's ok though, if more people ask for it. Though, modulars generally had a lower reception in the past.

It's not "based on Dune 1", it is Dune 1 with the wavetable-based "oscillator" section replaced by an sfz player. It lacks all the common functions of samplers, you can't layer sounds, pitch them, edit their start/end points, reverse them or set keyzones etc.

It's as much a synth as are all the PCM synths of 80/90's. Could it be that a synthesizer is defined by something else than just the sound source component? What is a synth? What is love? What happens next?

If you want to call it a sample player in a synth format, or even sampler you're free to do so, imagine that!
Sorry, but this is definitely the most stupid thing I ever read on KVR so far...

If you want to try and nitpick things, you need to be more precise. It's a sample format consisting of one or more text definition and audio files. You do realize that the .sfz file makes no sound on it's own? Hurr durr, see how dumb this game is?

Enjoy your evening, I don't have time for - [ censored ] - .

This kind of language is absolutely unacceptable on KVR, and especially OSC. Please stop talking like this from now on, thank you :tu:

is xfer recrords' dimension expander allowed for osc entries?

i noticed a few people have used it in the past. searched this forum and nothing came up. cheers.

I am new to the OSC. Am planning to enter this month for the first time. A couple of questions.

The earlier OSC pages have the results listed but more recent OSC's do not. Where do I find the results for the more recent OSC's?
Are the Archive.org listings in order of results?

Has it been a proposed to collate presets from entries each month. Since each competitor would likely design many sounds especially for the less known synths like the HY-Mono I've been working with this month. If you put all or most of the presets from the entries together you would end up with a really useful bank of sounds that could be auditioned via the entries from the corresponding competitor. Thoughts?
