not a customer of yours yet (love Glue in live tho) but, gotta say I appreciate this comment because absolutely no one gives a damn about us knob tweakers and button mashers in VST Land.

Which filter mode would be best for making slow strong resonant sweeps that are less resonant in the treble?

Unless driven all the filters all the filters will stay resonant as you sweep them up. You can use the "safe" button which will lower the resonance when the cutoff is near 20kHz.

If by "strong" you mean screaming self oscillation, then try the MS2/MS1/SHR/PRD filters and make sure to drive the input, this way at lower frequencies the resonance will be strong, but as you sweep the cutoff the input will drown out the resonance and self oscillation will stop (while there is still input!). All these filters apply a non-linearity to the output signal, so for a low pass filter when the cutoff is high the full signal gets shaped, which effectively drowns out the resonance when the drive is set correctly.

I'm very conscious of how thing behave when mapped out to control surfaces as this means the plugin is much more fun to use in a creative context (unless you enjoy programming!)

i'm hoping the next "andy-cytomic" post to this thread is one saying "I'M FINISHED!!!!!!!!!"

I was thinking of an acid lead I heard where it was mostly resonant in the mids, and faded to a brightness as the filter opened. Maybe it was done two-handed for cutoff and reso, but it sounded well timed enough that I assumed the filter just had that "shape".

Any news? Xmas present? New years? I'm getting some deja vu..

Before x-mas is looking good :) I've got all of the filters updated to handle the massive increase in resonance in as elegant manner as possible, and fine tuning a couple that need some extra attention to behave due to the extreme non-linear behaviour making things difficult to solve efficiently.

Hi, I am demoing it. I have loaded cytomic into an insert of a pad track and I am playing with presets. Is there "mix" knob on it? So that I can blend the dry wet signal?.

thx.

Post

left hand side, there's a knob underneath it says MIX. around the knob it says 'dry' and 'wet'.

Lol, it was right in front of my stupid face.
Listen, is there a place to find/buy new presets?

Thank you.

There is just the one factory bank of presets so far, but this already covers almost all the ground you need as starting points for various filtering modulation tasks. I've designed the plugin to be fun to play and tweak the knobs rather than instant gratification via complicated presets.

News update: I've completed the update and double checking everything, should be good for a release in the next couple of days. I've decided to keep the maximum resonance label fixed and just add a "trimpot" next to the resonance knobs to keep things more like hardware. Here is what the new gui looks like:

I've added a phase knob to LFO1, and Once button, and moved the Source and Level controls to the screen. This makes LFO1 way more useful to do wobble type basses with a sin wave starting at zero.

Thanks for hanging in there for this update, I assure you it will be worth it!

Thanks Andy,
and this version isn't compatible with the older version and is meant to be installed side by side. Correct?
Or am I just making up stuff as I go along ?:-)
