Based on what we've seen and heard so far, "right on!"

But I have a question which might also apply to other users here...

If this product runs on the EVE ONE engine from Dash, can we have some idea how the '.WusikSND' samples will be displayed/accessed? What about presets?

And -- cross-platform stuff -- does this mean that the ManyGuitar inferface could be used to run some of the tasty sample sets from Dash, like their 'Evalon?'

El Pollo Funcadillo: who has no trouble making keyboard parts sound like sloppy guitar playing...

To answer your Questions...

>If this product runs on the EVE ONE engine from Dash, can we have some idea how the '.WusikSND' samples will be displayed/accessed? What about presets?<

Okay ... it is the engine but there is some custom coding of it involved, ... Meaning ... this will develop more and be a unique product from the other Eve stuff, as it already is with the Amp and Chorus coded just for this.
We have some other great ideas for things that will take ManyGuitar even farther in the future. I'll release that info soon as i know more. But it is some cool stuff that will make ManyGuitar more unique and usable.

As for how the Soundsets get displayed. We have the GUI designed so all the Guitar and Bass sets included in ManyGuitar will show up in the Top of the Soundset list. As ManyGuitar will share it's Data folder with our other Product ManyStation, All of the WusikSnd files from that and WusikStation if you have it will show up underneath that in the list ... This keeps the essential stuff right up top for easy reach.

Presets from other products will not load though ... Just the soundsets as this is a completely different machine. So in answer to your other Question ..Yes you can also load DashSnd sets but i think they have to be in the same Data folder as your other ManyGuitar soundsets. We'll clear this up at release time.

So in short ... that's the long answer ;-)
Thanks for the Interest!
I have a few new MP3s to post again soon.

Really to do that sort of library, it will take alot of samples and be a pretty big set on its own, so we will feature that as an addon soon (a nu / heavy metal power set). That said there is a bit and some Clean Chords included ...but most of the Samplesets are great clean Real Guitar type stuff that we run through the included amp sim to make them scream.

Greg and I have also been playing /programming in chords using the notes sets and the amp and getting pretty nice results.
The mp3s i have coming will show that. We use some Clean sets and make it scream pretty sweet.

I'll post summin nasty for ya to hear soon... those Blues licks might scare ya off ;-) As Clean and Real as she sounds there.. .. She can be Dirty too.

Be good to hear this soon Paul ;)

I'm hoping this becomes my virtual guitar of choice Paul, so keep developing it - both the engine and the libraries as much as possible.

Distorted, Power Chords, Accoustic, Bass - you name it, I want it. :D

Good answers, thanks! Since there's some overlap between ManyStation's guitar files and those of ManyGuitar, you've arranged it so those from MS will appear at the top, too? Or will there be file duplication?

Well, that's cool. On reflection, too much interoperability might be a confusing thing...

Like the other dude said: "Distorted, Power Chords, Accoustic, Bass - you name it, I want it."

You'll be looking at some of the alternative tunings in acoustic, I hope? This sounds like it's going to be a killer product by the time you're halfway done..

Thanks Again Caleb ... As you know it will take different Soundsets and Samples to do it all ... But that is what this is all about. As you guys have seen already ....we make some pretty nice Samples here, and we will continue doing so to support our Products ;-)
Not only that but ....They'll all be Priced Right Too!

Hi
Yes... The way it works is all Guitars and Bass show at the top ... Both the New Guitars and Basses and the ManyStation Guitar and Basses. In fact the New Material gets installed into the Existing Folders from ManyStation. This way the New Soundsets also will be usable in ManyStation and both products are sharing the files so there is no Duplication of Data :-)

Now just to let you know ... We are in the final stages and things are pretty set but anything could / might change before release.

Alternate Tunings ... ManyGuitar has MicroTuning support so some neat stuff can be done with that.
We will try to Sample some cool Alt tunings down the road but so far my experience with doing this makes for mapping the samples in a playable Set a bit weird.
(For notes anyways .. not so bad for chordings) ...we are messing with it a bit though for future sets.

Right ...Back to the Grind :-)

Ah, that is very tidy! Also allowing the amp simulator to be used on Many & UBK samples.

Paul
Right, it probably is a bit pointless to map single notes, but chordings are what I was thinking, specifically the ability to emulate the kind of chunky guitar parts -- based on very odd retunings -- used by Joni Mitchell and Ani DiFranco, among others. I wasn't thinking about being able to arpeggiate Open D, Open G, Dropped D, DADGAD and other straightforward stuff.

Okay ... another MP3

http://www.manytone.com/music/ManyGuitar_FunkyTone.mp3

This is from gregjazz (The Creator of UBK) and shows his NEW Guitar and Bass sets that are included in ManyGuitar. The neat thing is that the chorded guitar and the lead guitar that you hear are the same SampleSet with different amp settings through the ManyGuitar interface. The Bass is also one of the new ManyGuitar sets from Greg ... all unreleased material ....(for 2 more weeks anyway :-) )
Sounding pretty sweet Greg. I love the Squeals and the pitchbends!

How much of that is ManyGuitar Paul?

Lead, rhythm and bass?

I liked this a little better than the other demos. The lead sounds a bit less ... I don't know ... perfect?

Don't know how to explain it.

yep
It is all new ManyGuitar Sets, including that Bass which is a New Set included with ManyGuitar. That MP3 shows some of the included new sets. UBK will remain a seperate add on product in case you want more Awesome Basses. That MP3 demo just shows some of the ManyGuitar Product as Packaged. But i am sure you guys with UBK can imagine what it can do in this interface. ;-)

Uh huh...that's pretty cool. Caleb mentioned that it sounded 'less perfect' but I'm not so sure this'll matter to me, very much. I'm looking for the contrast between autogenerated 'keyboard think' guitar and the real thing, personally.

And when that's not the aim, I'm looking for some instant, pour-it-in-here map-to-MIDI guitar for demos and songwriting exercises, when setting up a guitar rig would probably make me lose focus & send me off on some other excursion...

[The squeals, scribbles and pitchbends were indeed pretty good!]

Post

So how is it going Paul?

I would love to see the roadmap for ManyGuitar. I know that's probably not a possibility at the moment, but I would love it all the same.

Studiophonik is coming up for IK/SR. Looks like they're getting close to releasing but this looks like the only flagship IK/SR product that I might pass on based on the quality and price of ManyGuitar and a very large supply of drumkits that I already have.

So I'm quite interested to see where ManyGuitar is going and how it intends to get there.

I'm presuming at this stage that it holds the lofty ambition of being THE guitar solution with ever-growing expansion libraries and a continually evolving engine becoming gradually more and more sophisticated.

Does this sound about it Paul?
If so - can you buy a lifetime membership? :D
