Say it isn't so! Reverb Assistant is my favourite reverb effect. Not because I can sit around saying "ooh listen to that smooth tail" or "man does that ever sound like hardware" or whatever else some of those reverb loons like to say, but what other reverb lets you randomize the tuning of reverberants?

You just press a button a get "whoa, hello crazy!" That's my idea of a good time.

If you're looking maybe to tinker with the freeverb model, check out PD. There's a tutorial patch of a reverb model that's pretty good, lets you fiddle about. There's a similar one in Bidule, too.

Regarding Altiverb a few questions:

What makes the library so good - super million dollar pristine recording, lots of different mic placement on recordings, shiny new starter's pistol?

And do the impulses come in a proprietary format, like Sound Forge does, or are they .aiff files? I could see if they are just standard audio files that PC folk could still buy the package for the library and convert files afterward.

Good point, in that time, at this rate Id have around 850 posts. Probably a lot less since about 30 of my posts are from purchasing on the market place.

Compared to the near 5700 still.. I think you made a good point

I have fewer posts per day than most of you.

You all suck.

No you suck.

Shamann: Do you know where freeverb assistant can be downloaded? I can't seem to find this anywhere, but I like the sound of the reverberation feature you mentioned (and I've noticed that generally I've found my plugin preferences quite in line with your own).

Proprietary.

No can do. Sez so in the license agreement.

Yeah, actually I'd like to check it out again but it seems to be unavailable. :(

Post

Seems to be MIA. Pity, the 12th floor plugin pack 2 also had some great little things in it.

There's a reverb called 'RoomMaker' by Craig Bannister which I believe allows you to do this sort of thing as well; it has direct control over almost every single parameter of the reverb structure.

Its still available as well.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."
