Yes - Mo Mathews and the boys on the tele were just making the same suggestion. Rod Marsh has just been hopping into the selectors for being so far behind the game. Gillespie wasn't cutting it in the one dayers and the fact that they kept selecting him for three tests shows how hopelessly out of touch with their job they are. Lee couldn't get into the side for 17 months, Gillespie couldn't get arrested and he was still in it. Marsh is correct in saying that Tait should have been picked for the second test and the reluctance to select McGill is just ridiculous - our "quicks" besides Lee are and McGrath are lacking penetration. Picking Gillespie and Kaspar is nuts when you have a genuine attacking bowler in McGill.boogooloo1 wrote:Oh, and wouldn't it be great if we had 2 Warnes out there right now... oh, hang on - we have another world class leg spinner in Australia - what's his name again..?
Oops - 4 down for 57 - the shits hitting the fan over in angleterre.

Not to mention how good Michael Hussey looked in the 1 dayers.egbert wrote:Yes - Mo Mathews and the boys on the tele were just making the same suggestion. Yeah. I'll tell you one other thing - how the bloody hell did Gilchrist get over looked for Ponting as captain?? He would have had a gully there for Lee's second wicket - you have to attack a nervous side when you're defending 50 bloody runs!!

A: You can still hear the whine when they turn off the engines.

It's hard to captain from behind the stumps.boogooloo1 wrote:Yeah. I'll tell you one other thing - how the bloody hell did Gilchrist get over looked for Ponting as captain?? Mind you, Ponting has a decent record too - it's just that this is the first time he's had to captain a losing side, and he ain't loving it.
