Vurt, here's a manual I wrote for my students (art school students mainly doing soundtracks for videos but some making electronica as well). It's simple, it doesn't contain everything, it references some other software/plugs that we use, but some of it may be helpful ....

um, well, if you use the circle of 4ths and 5ths at all, do try to press the key that is the root of the current chord of the current progression, or better yet, imply it
and space your fingers out when playing chords, although it seems one can get away with smaller intervals at the top of the chord voicings
