Not to hijack the thread, but the ESQ-1 / SQ80 and VFX synths from Ensoniq also had one of the more logical keyboard based sequencer paradigms of any I've ever used. I've got a Motif 6 sitting here and for the life of me hate the way that it's internal sequencer works in comparison to those 10-15 year old Ensoniqs. One more bit of Ensoniq trivia - does anyone know who the synth chip designers originally worked for? Scroll down for answer.

Yes yes yes.....
The ensoniq keyboards has the most easy user interface.
They are so logical in every aspect.

Do you have the WavestaionEX samples to hand? I wouldn't mind a look over them! I'm thinking of doing my old Kawai K1 now, unless someone else has done this first?...michat wrote:Yes, they would be of use!!! If any of u want some other waves, ask me. i could give u the complete wavestationEX samplerom, they are just 22k, but sound ok.

Talking to a mate of mine and he said he's got hold of some Korg Karma WAV's - just single notes, but some sound pretty awesome. Anyone interested??

Karma is a current Korg product and they might not take kindly to samples from that instrument (in whatever form or format) being distributed free or otherwise (and however well intentioned).

Best workstations ever made. If I had one again today, who knows when Sonar would be used for MIDI again? Imagine driving Wusikstation and ST2 from a VFX or ASR X? Wow, that would be fun. I might actually write music again.olepro wrote:Yes yes yes.....

I do have a kawai k1, too, but it is already some kind of damaged (there are waveforms, but the presets and user banks were killed, and the os does sometimes change some parameters in edit mode without pressing any key!). So it would be nice to get the k1 romwaves!!!

If someone is interested in some reaktor ensembles for padsounds, look at the reaktor user-library for my new "Shiny synthesizer". It´s a bit cpu-eating but the sound is great! And there is more to come in the next few months!

That's a good point I had not thought about. I will keep that in mind...michat wrote:I agrre with steve, be careful with that!!!hollowsun wrote:Be careful!rockin1 wrote:Absolutely we're interested in anything you guys have!

In case the Karma isn't sample based, I can see less of a problem here, unless you were sampling some (factory or other) presets.

I am selling K1 internal sound tables (additive and PCM) in WusikSND format for $5. I wrote some code to auto-extract the sounds, and I've Fourier resynthesized the additive cycle tables at octaves so they're a bit cleaner (which may or may not be preferable!). Details at:michat wrote:So it would be nice to get the k1 romwaves!!!

There's a bit of discussion in there about how it's only a pre-release, and the final will be more extensive, which is why I'd only released for WusikStation for now (which allows you to drop new multi-sample sets in without altering presets/patches).
winegums100 has already inquired, and I mentioned that it's okay to convert these sounds (with Extreme Sample Converter, Awave, etc) to other formats if you don't care that they'll be changing later on. If you want to buy a copy (hey, $5, plus free updates to the new versions!), check it out here:

Then again, I know how you for-free wave-scroungers can be, 'cuz I'm one too!
At any rate, I contacted the tech manager of Kawai US a few years ago (as mentioned in the thread above), and he said that Kawai had no plans to revive their old synths and were content to let them be forgotten, which is a pity (and he agreed)! I've owned three different Kawai's. Good stuff.
