Why insult me?...xander wrote:Here's what to do: Knock off all the complicated shite and give us a song mate!!!Newbie Brad wrote:I did a symphony in one movement and put a link to it on all our 3 Pups Music web pages with a pitch for people to take charitable action or donate to the charities of their choice for American relief from Hurricane Katrina. There's also a post in the music cafe with a link. The post is called "Orchestral". It's called "Katrina, The Death Of Jazz And Blues". If my partner agrees, which I think he will, and you have a charitable purpose, you're welcome to take any excerpt you might want or I'll free license any other composition you want. Tell me what to do.

He's not insulting you at all, he's just saying the track's more important than how it's made.

Sorry newbiebrad, just quite busy at the mo. Sickle's right, no insult. If you want to help, how about giving up a song that you have the complete rights to or is free of encumbrances, etc.?
Yes it's for charity.
Post it here and let's hear it?

Cheers,
Alex

I've started writing my piece. It's an intimate, piano vocal piece about hope that is drifted. But it's a song about restoring hope. Mark my spot on the track list. I'll have it in the next couple to few days. I'm off Monday so I'll probably record it then.

*Lemme know what moniker you wish to use, and I'll make the appropriate changes for the Song List/CD Jacket.
ID3 tags are also acceptable!

I don't think we need to stick to Moog-esque things. I only suggested that in the monthly contest gossip thread because there's no vote this go 'round and people were already thinking of doing some kind of relief effort in connection with the competition.
Probably better to leave this open to all genres/ideas. I'll be posting a preliminary mix soon of a song that I think would be quite appropriate: a variation (aka, very much in the style of, I didn't listen to the original to see how close/far I am away, so it's not really a cover) on Edgar Froese's Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. I've retitled it Epsilon in New Orleans Pale for obvious reasons.
Back in a few once it's uploaded to the auditorium.

Hey -- doesn't have to be 3:00 -- can be quite long if you wish, you being Sickle an all, your allowedSicklecell666 wrote:Be kinda hard to cram one of my tracks into a 3 minute limit though..
I recommend we do what we do as long as we want it (long as it's not ridiculously lengthy).
Most peeps, like me, will do something of medium regular length I suppose, so it's all good I think. Yeah?
In fact, your song should perhaps be the lead off yeah? 'Landfall"...

This might be appropriate.
Sascha just laid down an awesome guitar part for it, and I should have the new mixdown ready by monday at latest.
Someone else has to give it a name though.
