 fair enough. i get into the habit of bouncing when the CPU load is getting too high

Na, top secret stuff. It's all in the three undocumented release countour knobs. Actually it's a time warp thingy. Well, kinda ... :hihi:
I actually had this strange feeling of timespace bending while tweaking those, but I couldn't dial any faster than light warping... but I'll work it out!

Shorter ATTACK helps, too. Sometimes. :hihi:

Have fun, FRitz

i picked it up last night when i saw time was running out
this is a brilliant piece of work
i never thought i'd hear such subtle sounds out of a compressor. The texture it can add to hi-hats and subtle percs on microTonic is outstanding.
makes every other compressor I've used seem like a very heavy, oversized hammer

and in a sense it's a real breathrough for Voxengo (or me) cause it's the 1st Voxengo non-free plug that is so well organized that it's easy and inviting to tweak.
As a software developer I know that this is very difficult to do as I've put out a lot of code that is more engineering tool than customer friendly -- and sometimes it just has to be that way, but this is a very nice piece of work.

I reckon the CPU load is totally worth it, and it's not terrible (could be worse!) :)
Sure. It's just that if it uses 2% more than compressor Y, then over 40 channels, that's hmm... let's see....80% more CPU  . Of course I could just get one of those Athlon dualcore 4800 CPU's instead of the Athlon XP 2000 I have. Hmm... maybe I should skip paying rent this month
Man- you must HATE dynamics in yer tracks :hihi:

It sounds like you are a good candidate for busses to create submixes. Just create like 4-5 busses and add a compressor to each. A compressor on each channel is overkill, IMO, but it is yer world.

I have an Athlon 64 3700 and I can easily run enough instances of the marquis to be happy with the sound. I would hate to see the sound quality compromised for cpu %.

Anyway, I feel yer pain about CPU percentage. I went from an athlon 2400 to the 3700 and its about 2-3 times more powerful in my experience.
