This all looks tempting... one question: how does the pedal/soundcard work when it's not your primary audio card (and asio can drive only one soundcard right?).

f.e.: i use presonus firepod, i plug the GuitarPig pedal into usb2 slot and what happens?
do I just get the inputs as additional inputs in my input list (i use cubase/live combo)?

what do you say?

It works like any other soundcard. You're thinking of most ASIO drivers only being able to drive one of the cards they're designed for at a time; and this isn't necessarily true either- Terratecs allow you to have multiple cards that share the same driver, for example.

Yep, that's exactly what would happen. Your GR inputs would appear in the list.

It ain't cheap, is it? AND no option to buy GR2 without the pedal...that would surely knock a few hundred dollars off the price tag - just look at the "hardware upgrade" price. Sheesh! The PODxt doesn't look so bad now....

I think I'll stick with my trusty Boss GX-700 for now
