@ VTX --- I hear ya ----- I'm from northern Ireland and I guess us Irish dont take too kindly to people trying to piss on us with their music / forum snobbery.
Some people have nothing better to say than criticise what someone else is doing , instead of interjecting something thats actually helpful.
I forgot my forum etiquette for a second , but sure , thanks old-timer heheh

Looks like a very nice site indeeed. One question: do you have a size limit on an uploaded track? I have a couple of 10+ minute prog "epics" and they don't fit on soundclick without having to encode them at a greatly reduced bitrate.

No problem

You can upload any size or length of music you want. We're totally cool with that!

We actually have a couple of djs on the site who do mixes that are pretty long. See http://aerolith.sectionz.com as an example.

We also have started doing a weekly podcast on iTunes with some of the top picks for new tracks every week which has been really fun. We're adding interviews by some of our favorite artists from the site between tracks and stuff like that too so it's been really cool.

@ SMART ---- I've just checked out sectionz and its not free at all. Its free to upload my tracks , but if I want anyone to download , I have to pay.

Yeah it is 100% free.

If someone wants to download the track they only have to log into www.sectionz.com.

btw, soundclick is exactly the same, you have to login to download music, but streaming is free.

I also would like to mention that you can usually stream tracks (it's been down for a couple days) as well but we've been doing some upgrades to the site and we had to take it out for a bit. Don't worry though, it'll be back!

You should maybe get someone to take a look at the homepage cos its misleading. I looked at it before a while back and that " trial period " thing u got there is very offputting and sounds suspicious to me !!

the key word here is "guests". If you're logged in, you're not a guest anymore and you can download the music. It works exactly like soundclick - if I want to download a track from soundclick, I have to log in first.

The premium membership allows people who are not logged in to download (among many other things), so anyone can come to your page and just download your music without having to log in first.

Why is it so hard to let people download without logging in ?
Is this so that your site can see how many hits its gettin ?

I may upload 1 track to your site for an evaluation but 2nd MOUSE House still stays at soundclick
