Am I the only one who finds that the first Gcomp is the best compressor to use on pads/drones?

right, good point..guess I need a fancy gui to make me want somethin'Lunch Money wrote:Better, why don't you try to explain why you think a freeware developer who has offered these at his own expense and with his own free time, should have to "sell" you on the product?
Take'em or leave'em. I take'em.

There are some basic stuff but some special also. GSNAP is freeware "autotune" and pretty, well, damn good (and only one that I know of). Reverse delay is also nice addition to everybody's delay arsenal. GCOMP compressor has portable RMS/peak mode and one very special thing: it shows clean and comprsessed waveforms so you get nice visual reference (yes, I know, use your ears etc...but anyway, its fun).snooky wrote:hm, I gott all the plugins I could ever need, so tell me why I need these aswell?
There are also other unique stuff like guitar synth (it uses audio to determine the pitch) so these are definitely worth checking out. The basic stuff is also very handy no nonsense stuff.
And I think the GUIs are fantastic in their own way.

Hi,
Re the VSnap - As you have already done the tricky things defining the pitch of and autotuning the samples, would it be a major leap to do a Melodyneish thing? What I really would want (and, that goes without saying, pay for) is a VST plugin that would allow me to drag the audio around just like I can with MIDI in a piano roll editor. I guess the only things that are missing from GSnap is chopping up the recorded audio in chunks, and being able to drag them up/down and left/right in the grid.
Considering your amzing skills, wouldn't that be a - ehrm - snap?
Keep up the terrrific work,
SparkySpark

Hello all,
I found a simple and neat way to add antialiasing using gdiplus.dll, and it does make a huge difference to the appearance. If I do go with it, then some users would have to download gdiplus.dll, although I think that anyone with XP will already have it. I'll probably go ahead and implement it properly, unless people are particularly against it?
@SparkySpark - I have no plans to take on such a project at the moment. As a realtime effect, the host does most of the boring stuff for me, leaving me to do the interesting bits (well, I find them interesting). Adding 'offline' abilities would mean that I'd probably have to write lots of tedious bits of code, and I don't fancy doing that in my spare time. I might look into what it would actually involve in the new year.
Cheers,
Graham

Graham, thanks for replying to my "evil" suggestion. I promise you I don't want your work to be tedious.
My best hope for the new year!

Thank you.
Several of your plugs get good mileage here.
GTune is my most used I think. There's a track with GTune in it in most of my template songs.

I've finished making the GVST range slightly more pleasing to the eye.

Drastic, I know. Some people may need to get gdiplus.dll to experience the exciting new look. I've put it up at the website, just in case. I'd be grateful if a couple of brave people could test-drive the new GUI and post here if it's a success or if there are any problems.
